drat, I feel like straight murder will be a bit harder for Paige to rationalize. Though it might be a nice barometer to see the direction they are taking her this season. Good episode overall. Definitely felt like it was geared more towards moving pieces around, and I'm psyched for where they seem to be going.

BIG HEADLINE posted:If anything, that's the one thing I'm having trouble with this season - Phil being just straight up *out* of the KGB. I could see them switching him to a *support* role, or as someone else suggested, using the travel agency to move agents and wash money, but them just *agreeing* to let him become Mr. Normal American so long as Liz keeps doing the spyin' and killin' just doesn't wash. Either Claudia or Gabriel said the job that P&E have isn't meant to last forever. The Centre was even arranging for the two of them to come home before the operation with Kimmie unexpectedly bore fruit. Given that, it stands to reason that they would let Philip stay since he is a critical part of Elizabeth's (and eventually Paige's) cover.

phosdex posted:Is it possible that Claudia simply is not reporting back that Philip is out? As long as Elizabeth is able to carry out duties, Claudia just covers for them both? Arkady was aware that he had left the business when he spoke to Oleg, so it seems that the organization is aware that he left.

howe_sam posted:The kid grew like a weed over the course of the series and broke his foot (leg?) one year, which is why he spent so much time sitting. Plus, by the fifth season the writing team leaned into the "Where's Henry" joke. You could tell me that the only reason Henry was in the show was to set up the joke last season where Phillip and Elizabeth are stunned silent by the news that he is smart, and I would consider that worth it.
