There's a couple of more loopy, bugnuts speeches in House Of Usher that are far more entertaining -- the one his wife gives about identifying as a ceiling fan, and the one Carla Guigno gives about being a lab monkey -- and I think they work because they're aiming for alienating rather than relatable.

I thought the monologues in Midnight Mass worked because of the Catholic themes: it's like everyone is either giving a sermon or a confession. It did a tad annoying at points, though.

You were so scary at night.

Tony McNamara writing it could be interesting, but... oof, everything else seems like a pretty big step down from the '89 adaptation.

And all those CG shots of rocks on the coastline.

Feel like some films should just accept they're going to be set where they're filmed. In this case probably the UK. It's just better for the visuals, and better for the actors (some of those accents aren't great).

Everything other than the video of chairs with names on them is AI. I wouldn't expect a real Avengers: Doomsday trailer until the fall.

Looks rubbish. Crossed fan fiction made by a past his prime director. Great trailer editing, but I feel like I've seen this story a thousand times and the fact its going to be a loving trilogy makes it even worse.

I'm cautiously optimistic. I love 28 Days Later, and I love and cherish my OOP blu-ray of it, but really didn't care much for 28 Weeks Later.

I'll probably catch this at the theatres, and if it sucks, hey, life goes on, somehow.

I liked the first one better, "postapocalyptic, vaguely Puritan society with bow and arrows against zombies" part looks great, "modern soldiers getting wrecked by zombies" looks poo poo.

now that I think of it, about 75% of my hype comes from that one creepy poem being excellently weaved into the trailer.

The 28 days later bluray is out of print? i have one but havent watched it since iirc it was shot on video so the bluray probably doesnt add much

Oof. This makes me less interested to see it. What a tonal shift over the previous trailers. They had been doing a decent job with the marketing until now, actually getting me sorta interested in a Marvel movie again. But this is warmed over garbage.

Is there going to be any dialogue in this movie that isn't

"We're not heroes!! We've all done bad things."
"You're right, we've all done bad things. But maybe now, we can change that. By...becoming heroes."

or are they just going to repeat that until they become heroes at the end of the film

Finally watched this the other day, and hooboy, is it a mess. You can tell it had a ton of reshoots, it barely knows what kind of movie it wants to be. It gets most of the plot across by just countless scenes of speaking exposition at the viewer, and none of it is interesting. Sam has no arc, hell the only character allowed to have any arc is Red Hulk.

As far as Marvel's last hope though, there is another.

Everything coming from test screenings is that Thunderbolts is both actually good and actually a movie instead of a green screen riddled mess, which is hilarious because really? Of all the movies you choose to commit and make it an actual film you land on Thunderbolts?

I’m rooting for it. The cast is great and everyone involved seems hyped about it.

Fantastic Four looks great but I’m worried about the Galactus focused plot. If that’s the bulk of the action and also the end of the movie then that doesn’t leave a lot to fill the start and middle. Rise of Silver Surfer did this already!
