My thing is you get too comfortable. You're too relaxed to pay perfect attention. I like the middle ground. Nice seats, but not reclining. I'm more focused on the movie.

Also I get super indecisive about how I want to sit so I keep adjusting it, and I can't imagine it's not annoying to the person next to you.

Alita trailer was good. Still sour that Cameron isn't directing, but RR doing his best Cameron imitation has won me over. Alita's eyes don't bother me anymore either. I'm there day 1.

I liked the Endgame trailer and I'm about as blasé as it gets when it comes to MCU movies

Cranking up on nostalgia was a good choice to generate hype, and not showing too much new content is good practice where it's common to have a lot of the story played out in trailers these days. It's effective at telling you that this is going to be the end of the overarching narrative that's been stretched over a decades worth of storylines, showing several characters who you've seen across how many ever movies.

The black and white with the pop-out red for the old footage was pretty lame though, I will agree. It's like the marketing team felt that audiences are too stupid to differentiate old footage from previous films from the new stuff. Which is entirely possible.

There was a thread on Reddit a while back that posed the idea that if you swapped the leads of Passenger (Chris Pratt, Jennifer Lawrence) with the leads in Valerian, both films would have been way more entertaining. I agree with that. Both movies were terribly miscast. Dane DeHaan is not an action hero; he's better at playing the socially awkward weirdo, and Jennifer Lawrence as the sassy secret agent type would have been way more convincing than Cara Delevinge.

Whatever you think of DeHaan and Delevinge (they were perfectly cast, btw), the lethal combo of Pratt and Lawrence would have poo poo all over a perfectly good movie.

I'm not familiar with the source material for Valerian, so maybe you're right. I wasn't convinced that either of them were a good choice for the kind of characters they were playing in the movie, and that caused me to check out after the first action scene involving them. Just didn't feel right to me

DeHaan and Delevinge in Passengers would have been way better though, easily. Script would still need some work, but same thing applied in that movie for me: Pratt and Lawrence just didn't feel right in those roles.
