The day I asked if anyone's DeepDiscount order showed up my copy of Dagon comes, Class of 1999 was backordered for a few days so it should show up soon.

$70 is about the cost of a couple of the individual sets so yeah it's a good deal.

People already whined about the duplication between the individual sets. Of course if there was no duplication they'd be whining that they had to buy a set they didn't want for one movie.

I was really annoyed about a decade ago when they decided to split up TMNT season release on DVD into 4 parts, and packaged each with an action figure. Sure I was a guy in my 20s buying a kids show on DVD, but I have to draw a line somewhere.

The Vestron releases I own, Chopping Mall and Waxwork collection, are really nice. I have Dagon and Class of 1999 now too, and I'm sure they're good too.

The best part about this is that the entire reason for that show was to sell toys.
Funny enough the only TMNT stuff I ever owned were a plastic tent, and Turtles in Time.

For me it's kinda both. Obviously I love watching movies, but I also buy for the aesthetics and collectibility of the item itself. For example there's no practical reason why I needed to buy the Arrow limited edition of Re-animator with the fancy comic book and the lobby cards when I could have just waited for the standard edition. Or just watched the DVD I already own.

To be fair to Empress Brosephine, like I said I do get the appeal of collecting figures (you should see my Neca Godzilla lineup). I just really, really hate the way Funko Pops look. Michael Myers shouldn't look cute goddammit :argh:
A plush Michael Myers might work. Plush Cthulhu works just fine. There's just something about Funkos that I don't like.

My collection isn't massive, but I'll probably only rebuy UHD for stuff that I really really love. Blu-ray is a barely compromised home format in my opinion. Nearly as good seeing something in a theater.

The only legit copy belonged to Carrie Fisher. She made getting it a condition of shooting some stuff for a DVD special features section. She claimed she liked to put it on at the end of parties when she wanted people to leave.

I bought the 4 disc Blade Runner 4K set, and am absolutely blown away by it. It looks and sounds amazing. It helps that my previous experience with the film was with the 2007 Collector's Edition DVDs, and no surround sound. That was probably the first movie I bought with the money from my first real job.

I was going to order it when it was on sale, but apparently the extra cuts and supplements are all DVDs instead of Blu-rays, which makes zero sense. The UK edition has proper Blu-rays, but it's expensive.
I bought the UK set after dithering about it for a few months. Actually bought it twice because fate chose this time for me to experience my first package theft. My apartment complex has had issues with Amazon drivers dumping packages in the unsecured entryways of the buildings instead of taking them to the office like they're supposed to. But it was an Amazon order so they had me refunded in 5 minutes.

Any idea what my best option is? Contact support? Leave a negative review with pictures? ...?
Just contact support. They'll refund or replace it really quick. They gave me $25 in credit yesterday because I reported that a locker wasn't working in chat while I did something else.

Not that Terminator Salvation was a good movie as is, but the "director's cut" only adds something like 40 seconds, and it's just Moon Bloodgood showing her boobs. The director, who insists on going by a stupid acronym which I refuse to use, had a press conference about it. He got up on stage next to her and excitedly asked "Who here wants to see Moon's tits?"

One of my most wanted UHDs. It's mastered in 2K but the bump up from 1080P and HDR would still be a worthwhile Improvement.

It's a shame that his last couple of attempts at historical epics haven't worked out. Actually kind of tempted to buy Exodus: Gods and Kings. It's a mess, and it's got that whitewashing controversy, but it's an interesting mess.

The Hobbit is roughly 300 pages long. The Lord of the Rings is about 1200 pages in total. The former should not take the same amount of time to tell a story a quarter the length of the latter. They were a bloated mess and I have no desire to own them. Once in the theater was more than enough.

I was thinking about it recently and I realized that the horror films of the Bush years are all based around brutality and hopelessness. A lot of them are pretty bad but they often have this vibe that captures the horror and terrible absurdity of the things that were going on at the time. They're very mean spirited.
It's really the kind of movie he should have been making all along. I personally have no time for torture porn.

Yeah, the theatrical cut of Kingdom of Heaven is trash. It's probably the starkest example (maybe the only example) of a movie going from complete garbage in the theater to really really good at home release.
I wouldn't say the theatrical is trash, but it's a huuuuge downgrade.

I bring it up every time theatrical vs director's cut comes up, but the DC for Terminator: Salvation is only about 45 seconds longer than the theatrical cut, and all it does is lengthen a scene so you get to see Moon Bloodgood's boobs. The director had a press conference where he whined about the studio telling him to cut it, and then loudly asking everyone present "Who here wants to see Moon's tits" while she stood next to him uncomfortably. What a douche.
