I don't mean to sound like a downer, but is that video meant for patrons only? It's unlisted and all.

Electronico6 posted:What EA wants from BFV is to get people into it's subscription service Origin Access on PC. If you try to buy BFV through Origin you going to have to pass two screens about joining Origin Access until you actually see what the game costs. It seems to have worked too, a lot of people are playing BFV via Origin Access instead of buying it. This is probably a really dumb question but, does that method make them more money in the long run because they hope people will subscribe and just stay subscribed?

Electronico6 posted:"We do know from our EA Access experience and our Origin Access experience for non-frontline titles that we find people play twice as many games for twice as long and spend twice as much money as they did outside, or before they joined the subscription. That's what led us to believe that frontline titles would be also very advantageous to the subscription, as well as help drive new users into the system." It's so weird that such a model works. I guess that's why Amazon is so desperate for me to sign up for their music service for just 99 cents or how Netflix/Hulu really want me to try their services for one month free!

It makes me happy that Nihon Falcom are fine with fans uploading their music onto youtube and actually bothers to sell their games' albums. It maybe helps that Nihon Falcom's music team is in-house as well.

I might be wrong and this isn't what you're looking for but isn't there an option in both the browser and app version of twitter at the top where you can change it from only seeing latest tweets from those you follow instead of top tweets? I've always had mine on latest tweets and have never seen anything other than the tweets and retweets from accounts I follow.

Kunster posted:Jeremy Parish has been a mainstay on "old game talky" internet for nearly 20 years to the point that you can just hear the sheer "Yes, I've been talking about stuff like this for that long, I am VideoGame Dad" from any time he makes a pun for every single video he makes. I found it kinda relieving that he's been slowly realizing that at this rate, reviewing every single Nintendo game like this would outlive him so he's been doing stuff like pairing games that all fit a certain standard or release or admitting he probably won't finish the series on this week's video. I've really been enjoying his Virtual Boy videos as well as some of the other game boy and NES titles that aren't talked about as much. Even when he talks about a game that he doesn't like, he still talks about it in an interesting and informative way.

Kunster posted:So a while ago I think I mentioned Nintendo Works getting near to Deadly Towers. Now, this is a bit of a special review as Jeremy Parish was from the same crop of Internet Video Game humor people of the late 1990's, and that game is kind of a punching bag then of some level of deserving to be one. However these overviews are both fair and kind, being only really harsh when the game is honestly a stinker, like how Doctor Sparkle's Chrotendo only started swearing when he got to wonders like the Three Stooges game. This was a pretty enjoyable video. Even with him going on about the game's bad points, it was interesting to hear the game's mechanics instead of just saying how it's the worst thing ever or whatever.
