Plinket reviews the joke is that the reviewer is lovely and terrible. The editing of the videos themselves are terrible on purpose. Smug is not self mockery. You don't seem to actually know what criticism they brought up, but whatever. It's getting to be ten years since they made them and maybe like five years since I watched one. But if they were basically repeats of what people said at the time (too much cgi and Lucas bad) instead of actually making points, it would never have caught on.

He did say it was his problem and he got over it for this, and said he was wrong to react that way. I don't see an issue. Many things he likes are in fact puzzle boxes that are susceptible to game jacking and are completely impenetrable unless you are in fact looking for codes, going to multiple other youtubes twitters or other, and checking the dates on them. He can enjoy things that way so I don't have to.

James Roberts wrote several IDW Transformers comics runs, and had some really good ones in 2012 that got people's attention. Before he became a published comic author, he was apparently really big in Transformers fanfic circles and that was it.

Hollywood and others do prequels because people will see movies that are about things they recognize and that's it. They don't really care if it's a good story or not, it's just to make things people will buy because they know what that thing is.

Is there a youtube critic about reviewing theater. I do like theater but haven't like... watched or read any for years. Difficult to ask, and often even people who have it a lot better than I do do not want to watch anything unhappy, and theater is about drama.

I'm not an active DSA member, but when I see "wrecker" invoked it's in the sense of COINTELPRO tactics that shut down both socialist and civil rights movements in the USA, but I'm sure the guy who files all socialism under "Stalinism" is really knowledgeable and can be taken at his word.

That is my worry.

I think Buffy SHOULD be rebooted. No concept is really original, and Buffy is a simple concept that you could do some interesting things with in a modern setting. I welcome them to at least try. Maybe this time her friends will be a little less lovely.

I missed that the new Buffy is black. That's actually really, really exciting. I'm sure the reboot is basically going to be basically a new show anyway (I doubt it will follow the old plot at all, they might make a new Spike and angel but they'll probably be very different, and we aren't going to have the exact same plots), but if they take the theme of "high school as hell" and applied it to that perspective in modern times it could be really incisive if done right. But yes, that paragraph is exactly the same as the arguments against diverse legacy characters.

Unpersoning is actually fine and good in many cases. The internet has no shortage of people saying fascist poo poo or having directly harmed people by controlling their relationships or groomed children or whatever. There's plenty of good reasons to just write someone off and not talk about them and just focus on content creators who make things worth talking about. Boogie should have be put in the "don't talk about this idiot" bin ages ago. The bar being lowered to "said something that sounds bad out of context to an internet acquaintance in a discord chat" does not seem helpful, but whatever, you're making me saying something more of a thing than I made of the whole thing.
