Those Hobbit reviews were dope. Had a debate with a friend about whether it or the RLM Prequel breakdowns were better. We ended up agreeing they were doing different things but both were really well put together.

It's hard in some ways to avoid Chud-tube. If you watch a video about a video game, you'll probably get a recommended video of a chud or chud-friendly male mid 20-30's screaming person. The algorithm pushes them because the chud audience loves and engages with them so non-chuds get those videos recommended to them as the algorithm works its dark magic. The algorithm rewards high viewer engagement, output, and follow-through clicks so the circle of video-game based chuds and racists is self-reinforcing. If Pewdiepie wasn't a) the most popular single youtuber (yes I know he's just the face of a small corporation, but he presents himself as a single person doing all the work) and b) a chud, this might not be such a problem, but when the face of video-game youtubery is a goddamn racist trashfire, other racist trashfires are going to do well. It's why I'm not too mad when someone recommends a video made by a chud-adjacent person. It's annoying that they don't recognize the dogwhistles because lord knows its not hard to learn about them, but I can't expect everyone who likes to watch youtube to know how racists hide their thoughts. But for goodness sake don't double down and defend your youtube choices when someone points out your favorite youtube sarcastic video game man is a closet racist at best.
