I had a period in my life where I was squatting in a house with no water and no prospects for anything in my life really. I let everything go for a few years. My teeth suffered the worst. My molars on my back left side hurt badly one day so I quit chewing on that side. I didn't use the left side of my mouth for 3 years or so. My molars became one mass of calculus. I was wondering how that severity of buildup happens, because it's not just due to a lack of dentist visits or no dental care tools. Even just scratching at your teeth with a fingernail will stop it from accumulating to that point. Must be neglect (from either a person's caretakers, or the person themselves).
