I think it's one of those things that was found and just assumed to be for torture but there is basically nothing to be found anywhere to show what they were actually designed or used for, like iron maidens. It makes me think about all of the various AUG objects that are created these days without documentation and what future archaeologists might think about them.

In middle school we had this one friend who never used his locker so he told everyone the combination and we decided to turn it into the Mt Dew locker. I'm not sure how it got so goddamn gross, but I guess people didn't finish them all the way or threw them in upside down or whatever. Eventually there was like an inch of bright yellow sludge on the bottom of the locker. He finally got in trouble and had to clean it out because the girl who had the locker next to him complained that all of her stuff was getting sticky from something oozing in.

All children with joke names should be entitled to slap the poo poo out of their parents once in their lifetime. I guess it's slightly better if it requires context to be a joke, like my recent neighbors who named their boy/girl twins Evan and Elle. It's not so bad if you get introduced to Elle So-and-So, but every time they mentioned the kids' names together with a little smirk I cringed so hard.
