Zulily Zoetrope posted:I'll be honest, the rogue gallery of invincible cyborgs is my least favorite part of the show, and I'm glad mecha-Hitler Cyril did not turn out to be one. Cyborg Archer would be a step in the wrong direction. Same. Invincible Barry being a recurring thing almost killed my interest in the show.

Yeah for me Cyborg Barry was the point at which the show started to lose its magic.

I don't know, I fully expect this show to end very anticlimactically. Like, the last line is one of their recurring non-sequiturs, snare drum, closing credits. And I'm fine with it, because that's in keeping with the spirit of the show.

The two episodes were good, but man do I really hate it when shows do what the show is doing now. Specifically, spend years developing a cast of characters with their own personalities and histories, then do some kind of time jump where it turns out that it was actually the presence of a single other character that made them all like that, and without that character around they all become super competent generic "good people." It's lazy, and it betrays the character work that was done on them in previous seasons. The show is still funny though, so I'm happy to keep watching, and glad that it's back to finish up on its own terms.

I really wasn't feeling the first couple of episodes this season, but they've really hit their stride to the point where I have no reservations at all about watching another season. The past few episodes have been vintage-level quality. I do hope that if next season is the last, though, that they commit to it so they can give the show the proper ending it deserves.
