You guys ever get too close to a (literal) crow's nest?

Valet and bartender at the restaurant I was picking up from thought it was pretty drat funny when I got dive bombed. :argh: Fuckers tried to get a piece of my hair, thankfully it was tied back (they caught it ahead of the hair band, so I just felt the tug instead of them actually yanking any out). I don't think I've run that fast in at least 5 years.

Crows can eat a bag of dicks. Bartender said I was the 4th one they'd gone after that day; valet said he'd seen more, but they hadn't made physical contact with anyone until me.

Do *NOT* gently caress with crows. Those little assholes are smart. We had a nest in one of last houses backyard one year that had babies. The stupid thing about crows, they kick their kids out of the nest *before* they can fly, so they spend 1-2 days on the ground. Well my wife let our wiener dog out into the yard to go pee one morning, and she comes back with a baby crow in her mouth while being divebombed by the parents. Luckily my dog is too dumb to know what to do with something she actually caught and didn't hurt the crow. My wife or dog couldn't go into our backyard without being aggressively divebombed by crows for about a week. Then, probably for the next month, they would follow us when we walked to the bar. We had to bribe them with cereal and crackers to make peace with them. The following spring the baby fell just on the other side of our fence. I figured that out when I went to take out the garbage and got divebombed, then saw the little crow hiding behind our garbage can. We just kept throwing crackers out into our yard and they were fine with us.

Holy poo poo, I haven't thought about that band in years. I spent many hours listening to their first couple songs on loop after eating way too many mushrooms back in ~2005ish(some of those years are a bit of a blur...). I wish I still had those files somewhere, I think they had different versions of them on their first album, but the originals were "more trippy" sounding. I know thats a stupid description, but its the only way I can describe it.

The problem with establishing the owners is that they're all toolbags. So much bragging about street racing. So much doing this to "prove" whatever (prove my car's the best, prove to my kids I can do this, prove to my dead buddy up in heaven, prove girls can drive too).

They also change the rules with no explanation; in episode 1, the guy running the race said a false start means a re-race. In episode 3, he said a false start is a DQ... and then the supercar & the fastest of the sleepers false-started, disqualifying themselves. I think Netflix decides who they want to win (or at least, who they want to lose) and set up the competition based on that, either by making entrants submit 1/4 mile times and grouping based on that, or by just doing multiple runs until they get the winner they want.

The winner is almost always the least douchey one. There have been two supercar drivers who weren't tremendous shitheads, and they both won: a photographer who borrowed the car from a client, and an older woman who does a lot of racing (I called that she'd win 30 seconds into her first appearance on the episode). The first ep was won by a guy in a wheelchair with a heartwarming story.

Also in one of the episodes, one racer shows up with his car on a trailer, everybody talks like he's trying to keep it extra secret... but no, turns out he just couldn't get it running because it had a burned out ECU. Why the gently caress would you bother trailering your poo poo all the way from LA to Barstow if you know for a fact you can't race? There's a lot of poo poo that stinks of Netflix interfering.

Watching the trailer for it I decided it looked too fake to be worth watching. Turns out I was right.

He's 10 and definitely at the hour in-hour out phase. We have to spend an hour to get an hour. I was just thinking last week I was going to find him out there sooner or later. We've been pretty strict with electronics, but he's always found ways to get around it. Waking up at 5AM to watch TV, grabbing my old kindle and downloading youtube, and just last week finding the only unlocked laptop in the house + staying up all night watching youtube. I'm torn between finding a schedule that works (the smart idea) or just blocking all devices on our firewall.

I don't remember and can't find what I submitted. I think it was for the 44" tool cabinet, the top box for that, and maybe a floor jack. Not a ton of money but all items that have really inflated 'regular' prices. Fortunately I kept the receipts. Unfortunately I found one more receipt a little after I submitted my claim when it was too late to add it.

OPTION A. Customers who have itemized Harbor Freight receipts reflecting one or more purchases between April 8, 2011 and December 15, 2016 with a “you saved” amount reflected on their receipts can submit copies of those receipts and elect to receive either 20% in cash, or 30% in a Harbor Freight gift card, of the total “you saved” amount listed on their receipts, excluding any amounts reflecting free items or items that were later returned.

Probably hardest but most rewarding to set a schedule and enforce it via timed lockouts on the router. And lock up the router.

I'm going to setup a second SSID and lock the TV's to it. With Ubiquiti gear you can set a schedule for the SSID. Should be decent at stopping 80% of it. The watching schedule bit seems to be the hardest for him. But we'll work on it.

I would just block everything to be honest. The Nuke From Orbit method works sometimes, I'll ground my son from everything but reading books for awhile and he will get the message eventually. And he HATES getting grounded from playing with his buddies on the weekend, that's my ace in the hole :v:

Wife and I spent the whole day together. She's going to Africa this month so she had to get her fuckin shots and we had to drive two hours for the major one. Fuckin Indiana. But we got Fondu and stopped at IKEA so that was also nice. And we decided to stay in our current apartment instead of moving to the bigger unit in August. She's letting me move all my nerd crap out of the den (that has no door) into the second bedroom where it will be safe and hidden from cats and children of friends. Part of the compromise means she doesn't want me buying another car until we either move or I sell 1 of the current ones and promise to sell the other afterwards. I can live with that.

loving amazon sending me used poo poo gently caress you gently caress you.

Joke's on you the item they sent me has a fixed-life expensive flash bulb in it so I used it (too, because it's used) and then returned it to the locker three hours later. loving Amazon.

On the flipside, I sold a few small things on ebay. So, before I returned the thing to the locker, I packaged the items and filled my backpack with all of the boxes, and made it a 5-mile loop from apartment to post office to amazon locker back to apartment. Just four years ago I used to go on 50-60 mile all-evening rides (I'm slow, but like to keep a steady rhythm and just knock out miles, even though 60 miles is nothing compared to loving CI and others in this thread holy poo poo), but just these 5 miles killed me. Gotta get my sit bones back into shape, and also this is my first bike with drop bars. I've got the position right, I think (leg straight at bottom of crank, I'm not reaching for the hoods), but at my weight I put a lot of extra weight on my wrists and forearms so that'll take a bit to fix.

Reynolds from what I know of is a legit big fan of Deadpool and it's pretty much mostly his persistence the first Deadpool got made - he was not happy with what Fox did to Deadpool in Wolverine.

But yes, just like Iron Man is basically real life RDJ and Thor has become Chris Hemsworth, Deadpool is pretty much Ryan Reynolds.
