It doesn’t help that MLB does nothing to encourage its players to be interesting, as any personality has already been browbeat out of the best guys by the time they reach MLB (see Judge and Trout). When there is someone who has a personality everybody clutches their pearls and says he’s ruining the game (see Harper and any Latin player) What I’m saying is we need to get all these old sportswriters out of the paint so their stupid takes don’t dominate the discourse

A quick look at the numbers says that Baez is striking 22% of the time, which is down from last year so if that holds or gets lower he'll be fine as a low walk but high contact player which will play
