This is so understandable. People treat you differently once they know you're "crazy." But I still tell everybody who'll listen, because gently caress if I'm gonna' feel like all my relationships are built on a house of cards and they can gently caress off and all if they're gonna' be fair-weather about it.

I love that film but every single time I watch it I'm somehow blown away all over again by just how much it picks up the second Tim Curry appears. Like, it's a really good movie before then but then suddenly it's something completely unique and amazing.

The movie was supposed to be black and White until Dr. Frank entrance. The only thing in color would be his Red Lips. Id like to see that edit someday

Hello! I see you.

I should get back to watching matches and writing stuff for the Random Rasslin' Reviews thread, but I've been busy playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey (Kassandra is the best) and getting annoyed by how hot my apartment gets in the summer.

My indoor temperature is currently sitting at 31° C (and has been for weeks now), and outside is almost as hot. Maybe that doesn't sound bad to you, but I'm built for what is supposed to be a colder climate (I may have to put on a winter coat when it's -20° C outside) and in no way equipped for this sort of thing. :gonk:

Do you not have air conditioning?

DMorbid
Jan 6, 2011

Hello! I see you.

My apartment has an air handling unit, which helps precisely gently caress all even when supposedly set to "summer" mode and cranked up to the highest setting because all it really does is circulate the air. The building has some sort of central heating as well, which keeps things nice and warm in the winter (which is usually prioritized when building and designing these places, understandably so, and based on the labels on the switches in my electrical cabinet the automatic heating only applies to the bathroom anyway), but summer is just awful.

Properly air-conditioned homes aren't really a big thing here in Finland, I don't think, unless you build one yourself or it's a very new apartment building. At least I've never lived in one.

edit: Well, at least the outdoor temperature has come down quite a bit today, so that's something. Of course by the time my apartment manages to cool down, it's going to be 30 degrees outside again and it won't matter one bit

KISS ME KRIS

Assassin's Creed notes:

Odyssey is huge and extremely overwhelming. Once I unlocked the spear and cult mechanics, I haven't touched a story mission since. I've maxed out my levels doing conquest battles and fighting mythical poo poo(I haven't figured out how to beat the poison boar tho, gently caress that poison boar). I'm trying to grind out the Hades armor set because the idea of a giant flaming chick(with flaming trident!) sneaking up on you is funny as hell. The combat is way too spammy to feel like an AC game. Even more swing and manual reposition fighting than Origins.

ACIII Remaster has completely captured my attention. It plays a lot more like the Ezio games(which makes sense since it was next in the series) but with parkour through trees. Hatham plays like a stompy murder tank, Connor plays like a cloud of murder and stabby. Like the Ezio games, combat is more about waiting in the pocket, catching a strike and then using that build a murder combo out of it. Its a lot more fun to play than Odyssey

Hello! I see you.

Odyssey's combat got a lot more enjoyable for me once I turned the difficulty down to easy and the level scaling to light. The lower difficulty setting doesn't really affect the AI at all, just cuts enemy health down from "entirely too much" to "still a bit too much but not that bad, except for a particular mythical creature fight on Lesbos".

When I get back to it, I'll try that. I think I'm running Normal with light scaling and I ran into a cultist+retinue I had to cheese to death. They got stuck in a small temple so I shot a bunch of exploding arrows until they burned down to 3 survivors than I then stabbed to death.

If you don't have the Hero Strike ability, get it ASAP. Even if you're not specced for Assassin damage, it'll still hit really hard and takes massive chunks out of enemy health bars.

Unfortunately, P4 Golden is a Vita exclusive, so even a PS3 isn't going to help. You used to be able to buy the Vita TV microconsole for basically nothing, but the prices of those things have shot up massively over the last couple of years so an actual Vita is now pretty much the only feasible option. The original PS2 release runs well on the PCSX2 emulator, but it's also a lot less polished and lacks the added content from Golden (which isn't entirely a bad thing because that one bonus dungeon is garbage). As for the game itself, some of the writing hasn't aged well and it's kind of hard to go back to the randomly generated dungeons of the PS2 Persona games now, but it's still pretty good overall.

I have that and the adrenaline builder combo move(which makes you invulnerable during the longass animation, which is nice when crowded) so I use Hero Strikes and Overpower Strikes in quick succession to really tear down dudes.

Just in case you haven't already gotten to this point and figured it out, you'll eventually hit a point where you will need to move the story forward to get to certain people on those trees. Not even the top ones, a couple randos.
