Clock hasn't struck midnight yet. Vegas just looked unprepared to start. They're entire game is based on speed, and they just were slow and making uncharacteristic plays. On that first goal you could easily tell they were off their game. Marchessault had a bad turnover where he tried to force a pass rather than the safe play deep in the zone the Knights prefer to do. Then he followed it up by going for a change on a 2 on 2 rush in the D zone, which they never do and because they rely on the high forward to come back and get a number advantage on defense. It was just 2 very uncharacteristic plays, and not a good sign. They'll be better next game I'm sure. Jets will still be tough to beat though.

Backstrom is out again tonight though he skated at practice. I think he’s gonna sit till we start loosing games. Eller is playing out of his mind, why gently caress with the chemistry. I’m mentally prepared for a Caps loss tonight, Tampa’s gonna play like a team possessed come puck drop. Gonna lol if they gently caress it up and Caps win again. Any nervous Tampa fans?

Playoff hockey is a game of luck, and while you can make your own luck, you can’t control the other teams. Was talking to my mom today for some reason and she dropped this bomb on me "I'm cheering for Winnipeg because they are Canadian but I really like Las Vegas that's such a good story, I wish they didn't have to meet at this stage of the playoffs". This is interesting to me because: - She has no interest in hockey other than Canada water cooler talk obligation - Canada's team is anecdotally a real thing I guess
