I'm tellin' ya I've been playing ice since I was a wee lad and I'm pretty good but there's ex pros that play in my A league in the summer and they can make me look like poo poo. One dude played in the OHL and had similar numbers to Trotz and he's pretty nasty. Trotz would make your average beer leaguer look like poo poo probably even in A leagues with good d3 players. I can't even imagine how good NHL players are. We have a goon goalie whose name escapes me who practices sometimes with NHLers over the summer and I'm kinda envious even though said players would make me look worse than a cone.

The line changes are basically like a kids league going to an adults league. It's amazing to see.

When I was in high school we had a memorial hockey game between players and teachers every year after a hockey player died driving back from practice when I was in grade 9, and in my grade 12 year there was a dude who played for the Oilers for a few games who was now a math teacher. So like, he definitely wasn't a good NHLer, but he did get the call up a few times. Some of us were actually decent hockey players who had been playing our whole lives, and he absolutely clowned all of us. Like, he would just hang around the back and not do much so it wasn't like 50-0, but he easily could have single-handedly made it so. Whenever he got the puck it was like the rest of us were just standing still as he skated around us.

I fully accept my prediction posts on PG 28 saying that Vegas would be bad. Because they looked like they would be bad at that point. Anyone claiming they predicted this or that the league rigged the draft is lying. After the season they have had I also fully believe they can win the cup here and deserve it

Vegas is, to recall a memorable turn of phrase, living every Canadian farm girl's dream and riding a hot goalie. There ain't that much more to the story than that and it would be unremarkable if it didn't happen to be (1) an expansion team and (2) M A fuckin F.
