Turns out blue milk is just a thing you can buy at Malaysian ramadan bazaars. Probably cheaper than what Disney is selling.

There’s a Mandalorian movie slated for May of 2026

Though at this point I’ll be surprised if any SW movie actually comes out

Mandalorian is actually supposed to start shooting this summer but I guess we'll see!

Let's get naked!
A movie announcement doesn't really seem like much nowadays when that announcement could just mean a straight-to-streaming 2 hour special.

In the Mandalorians' case it could just be a cheaper way of spending half the budget of a single season on a two hour movie.

Also these sort of things always feel so rushed on the story and characters sides after you're used to the more leisurely paced tv shows and then run time often is compromised by needing long and expensive set pieces to justify the 'movie' bit.

Not a direct comparison, but I just watched MS Marvel series, really enjoyed it then tried to watch the Marvels movie. I had to turn it off halfway through, and never bothered going back to it.

Exploration is ill-advised.
Probably a big problem when the movie gets made by a completely different team than makes the TV show, and you're often lucky if that team has even watched the show all the way through.

I am reasonably sure Filoni will have watched anything with his characters in it

Imagine his blank face if he wants to do something in his movie and everyone else awkwardly looks at each other and says "We...did that in season two. Twice."

Gonna laugh so hard if the climax is YET ANOTHER Base Under Siege

Popular culture has passed you by.
I mean, it's quite normal for Star Wars to have figures for every character that showed up on screen and have another for the same character if their costume changed even a tiny bit from scene to scene.

But why loving Funko Pops? They look god awful, and I can't imagine my kids would play with them at all even if they gave a poo poo about Star Wars.

Exploration is ill-advised.
I remember that outfit, the one Star Wars kit I owned as a kid was Anakin's podracer. She's wearing it probably through the entire Tatooine sequence, which is pretty much the middle act of the movie and all. Probably easy to forget given it's pretty ordinary and cheap looking, which is, y'know, the point, disguising herself as a peasant girl who wants to look nice on a budget.

galagazombie
Oct 31, 2011

A silly little mouse!
Thinking back on it TPM has a kind of odd structure, especially by Star Wars standards, where Tatooine is this extra “fourth act” attached to a 3 act movie about-Act1:Getting off Naboo, Act2: Corucant, Act3: Finale. On top of that Tatooine itself is it’s entire own movie in three acts, complete with a big finale in the “3rd act” podrace. A movie within a movie.
