Popular culture has passed you by.
It's funny to think that tables are universal. They show up in every movie, and are highlighted in some as being rather impractical for the various aliens. Like, Dexter Jettster has to squeeze into his seat, why doesn't his diner have one of those funky Kaminoan ceiling floaters from later in the movie? No tables there! Also, Greedo probably would have been happy for some other kind of furniture arrangement.

He objectively does not, according to the canon of the Star Wars universe. Over the years, several authors have pitched Droid Jedi, and Lucas has shut them all down. It's a rule of his universe: Droids are not alive, they do not have access to the Force, as such they have no afterlife, no continuance and no souls.

Peter David wrote a published story about a droid jedi.

How do you know that droids lacking a soul is the reason why George Lucas did not approve any pitches about Jedi droids?

Who would represent a slave army at this point?

German footsoldiers in WWII were often essentially slaves - they had no choice, they were conscripts, they could not refuse or desert without being killed. In the film Inglorious Basterds, we see that they are people, flesh and blood humans, who feel fear, pride, joy, they play games, they laugh, they have friends and families. Our protagonists often kill these slaves. What's worse, they do it even when the slaves have surrendered. They torture and mutilate the slaves as an example even after they express remorse. They defile the slave corpses and take trophies. Later they even kill women and noncombatants with fire. "But that's not fair," you say. "They were Nazis!". I agree. It's wrong to see them sympathetically. You simply refuse to apply the same moral standard -the same moral outrage- to the Enslaved battle droid's victims, the Bird People of Plembis 9, and if you don't think that's the same as the Literal Holocaust I challenge you to call Jedi Master Birdo Flokk a kike

We have direct evidence of an afterlife that exists through the Force, even individual consciousness persisting after death, which I would call a soul. Without the Force -which droids do not have- this is not available. In this luminous universe, they are crude matter.

Oddly enough Death Stranding brings up the soul vs soulless thing, Deadman is a cloned fetus who's had like 70% of his body replaced by cadavers and as such has no soul (or Ka, or Beach) which drives him to be fascinated with the concept of them and in turn he's one of the most emotionally expressive characters in the game, maybe as a commentary on this generally pedantic style of deductive sci fi reasoning lol

Admittedly it’s been years since I’ve seen the prequels, but is there any reason to think that the droid army is being coerced any more than any other soldiers? It seems like they love their jobs and I don’t remember any of them doing anything but gleefully carry out orders. I might be wrong but the only express human coercion against droids that is distinct from human coercion against humans is in a new hope and maaaybe c-3po getting mind wiped at the end of the PT. Am I forgetting something that makes this comparison compelling?

Mikey Madison Passes on Shawn Levy’s ‘Star Wars’ Movie With Ryan Gosling

Sources tell Variety that Madison was offered a role in the new and untitled “Star Wars” movie directed by “Deadpool & Wolverine” filmmaker Shawn Levy, but conversations have since ended with the “Anora” star passing on the part.

As previously reported, screenwriter Jonathan Tropper (“This Is Where I Leave You,” “The Adam Project”) has been writing the screenplay for the film, which will star Ryan Gosling. Levy — who will join the rarefied club of directors who’ve worked with both Canadian movie stars named Ryan — has been developing the project since late 2022 and is also producing for his 21 Laps company, along with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy.

Well, at least that's still in development instead of being canned
