It's not about being a jedi it's about being The Chosen One. Yoda is a support character who exists to help Luke, The Chosen One. Same with obi wan etc. I didn't like TLJ but the core theme of bringing it back to truly humble origins was something that worked. It's incredibly funny that they chucked it all in the bin
