Lately I've been working on this theory about the role of the Impossible Girls (well, the 5 girls named after the treasures in the original Bamboo Cutter story) in the story. My theory is that they're suppose to help their select person find real love. Ryuuju helped Shirogane get together with Kaguya. Osaragi is trying to help Miko by dissuading her from pursuing Ishigame. With Tsubame, I think she'll help Ishigame by pairing him with Otomo, or at least make up with her. Maybe? Like I said, it's a theory in process.
