Shooting seeds past the claw is actually the speedrun method for this boss, because it's movement ai gets significantly more erratic when the claw comes off!

Bellmaker posted:So I learned during SGDQ that you can actually skip the Hyper Slingshot by flinging yourself over that giant pit near the beginning of the dungeon with a combination of bombs, the Pegasus Seeds, and the Roc's Cape. In the same run you can see that the 7 hole gap in the ruins is also cross able, contrary to what was said in the most recent video.
