Did you know; the type of sour that uses a sweet liqueur in place of simple syrup is called a ‘daisy’ which is the English word for margarita because the marg is the big granddaddy of this style of cocktail. Margs rule and even though it’s autumn here I am gonna make some the second I see some decent tequila on special good thread dude

A cool drink if you like margaritas but also like American whisky is a ward 8, it’s a whisky sour with an ounce of orange juice (egg usually omitted in the recipes I see but it still works with egg white)

I think you can’t actually sell anything except 100% blue agave as tequila in the US but I do not actually know if that’s true the rep for the company that distributes herradura here told me that and booze reps love 2 lie

Because Australia has no real appellation laws like the US you can find poo poo labelled as tequila that is 51% tequila and 49% grain alcohol and even that comes in around 30 a bottle

Nothing wrong with balancing out weirdly sour limes with a bit of simple but imo you should take this opportunity to try to mess with your ratios a little, if you’re rocking a 2:1:1 normally and they’re coming out a little sour try a 3:2:1 but with the Cointreau as the 2 and the limes as 1 and see how that goes, I do 3:2:1 always with limes on 2 normally, but when I get sour limes I swap em around and it’s good stuff
