If one half of the country is so entrenched in their paradigm and the other half equally so how can there be any progress when they are so far apart? Canadians obviously have different political opinions but it's mostly boring legislative poo poo and how we spend our tax dollars. thing is, americans are individualists at a level that the world has never seen. combine that with a national myth that remembers taming the frontier with nothing but grit and a gun and you have a culture that is very difficult to reason with add in the souths chip on its shoulder, and you have a country that is perpetually spoiling for a fight. america loves a brawl, even internally
