Is it I that is insane... or the rest of the world?





Castle Adiart is the seat of the royal family. However, the old king passed recently, and their successor is a weak one.

Even worse, enemies of the Blue Dragon, the ruling faction in this castle, have infiltrated it, eyeing the throne for themselves.

Where will you stand, as intrigue turns to bloodshed and once trusted friends turn out to be enemies?

This is a role madness-ish game of Mafia for 16 people with a semi-open setup. A fair warning – this game will probably be quite a bit different from usual games, since it’s based on another game like the Town of Salem mafia was. It WILL include alignment changing, but pretty limited – there’s a hard cap on how many can be changed at any time, as well as a cooldown. Several roles are also immune to being recruited, or can prevent someone being recruited.

Days will be 48-72 hours in length. Nights will be 24 hours. These are flexible based on when I want to be up and doing things. We’ll be using a combination of googledocs and Discord to manage everything, so please make sure you have access to those for the game.

There will be several differences to standard mafia games. I will try to explain them here.

First off, this will be an open setup. I’ll have a short description of all possible roles in the second post. This does not mean all of them will appear, only that they might.

Secondly, there are some roles that are immune to roleblocks – they will also be immune to redirects. A few roles are also immune to poison or bleeding, and some are even immune to being recruited. Keep that in mind when you play.

You will receive feedback more so than usual, as well. For example, you will received feedback when being roleblocked, busdriven (you will be told who you were busdriven to, when attacked (even if you are bulletproof), and so on. Not all abilities do, however. I’m happy to provide answers on how abilities work while I’m around.

Perhaps the biggest new mechanic is Royal Blood – a passive ability that several classes have. This ties into the King mechanic.

At the start of the game, there will be a King, whose role is public knowledge, but the King’s alignment is not known to anyone but the King himself, not even the scum team if the King is aligned with them. In addition, the King cannot be investigated, or attacked by members of the Blue Dragon. They were a pretty powerful role to have, and you want to have them on your side.

When a King dies, there will be a vote on a new King at the beginning of the day. This is an opportunity for both Blue Dragon to get a confirmed member on the throne, or for the scum team to get a King elected.

It works like this: At first, members with Royal Blood can step forward publically (therefore narrowing the roles they can be, as only a few roles have Royal Blood). If said player with Royal Blood is the only one to step forward, they will immediately become King. If there are multiple, a vote starts, with everyone that stepped forward being a possible choice. You can vote for yourself in that vote.

If nobody with Royal Blood steps up for a real life day, the entry bar will be lowered and EVERYONE can step up to become the next King. A Serial Killer that becomes King will turn into a Psycho King, so beware!

If there’s a tie, no King will be chosen, and there will be another attempt to elect a King the next day. If there are less than 5 players still alive, no new King will be elected.

Other general mafia rules (that have broadly been stolen from somewhere):

1. Don't be poo poo to each other. This is a game, part of the game is having people react, but if you think you’re reacting badly, walk away, calm down, come back later.
2. If you post fewer than ten times across an ingame day, you will receive a warning. If it happens a second time, you will be modkilled at the end of the night.
3. Don't edit your posts.
4. Don't talk after you're dead. I'll send you a PM to an Obs doc if you want to chat poo poo.
5. Feel free to post after the hammer/during twilight about non-game stuff.
6. Don't directly quote any communication from me, including your role pm. If you have OOT communication with another player, the rule still applies.
7. Don't fake day actions.
8. Try to post while sober.

Here is a list of possible roles that can appear in the game. It does not mean that all of them will appear, just that they might. Unless they have a number of Uses specified, assume they are infinite use.

Killer Roles posted:

Hunter (BD, Unique)
Lynchbomb. Kills the person who voted them up FIRST.
Roleblock Immune.

Night Abilities:
-Send a wolf to attack a player. They will bleed out in one night unless healed or immune to bleeds. Does not count as a visit. 2 Uses.
-Have a Bear guard you. You will be a bulletproof PGO that only kills attackers that visit (some attacks do not count as visiting). Recruiting attempts on you will fail while your bear guards you. 3 Uses.


Knight (BD)
Survives the first bodyguard kill.

Night Abilities:
-Defend a player, sacrificing themselves to protect them and kill their attacker.
-Kill a player. If they are Blue Dragon, you will not attack them and instead take your own life immediately. If you are redirected in any way, you will not attack or take your own life, no matter the target’s alignment. Not usable before Night 3.


Prince (BD, Unique, Unconvertable)
Immune to Roleblocks and Conversions.
Royal Blood.

Day Abilities:
-Jail a player.

Night Abilities:
-You can talk to your prisoner, and execute them at your leisure. Being executed in Jail bypasses everything, killing you completely immediately. You have 3 Uses of Execute. Not usable before Night 3, and executing a member of the Blue Dragon makes you lose your remaining uses.


Assassin (Unseen)

Day Abilities:
-Poison a player. They will die within two nights unless cured or immune to poison. 4 Uses.

Night Abilities:
-Kill a player.
-Kill two players at once, 1 use.


Psycho King (SK, Unconvertable)
Immune to Roleblocks and Bulletproof.

Day Abilities:
-Doublevote, which is announced to the thread. Can only be used once per day via ##Point Finger
-Immediately lynch someone(via ##Force Execute) or make them lynchproof. Using Force Pardon is done privately, but it will be announced to the thread that either a Mercenary or the King used Force Pardon.

Night Abilities:
-Kill a player. This attack does not count as a visit.


Possessor (SK, Unconvertable)
Immune to Roleblocks and Bulletproof.

Day Abilities:
-Change your flip to any of the available classes when changing bodies.

Night Abilities:
-Force a player to attack someone else. They will not be notified, and will not lose their usual action. You can use this ability on yourself.
-Possess another body, leaving your old one behind as a corpse. The new body will be healed by the life force of the old one, and their player will become the new Possessor. 2 Uses. If your body jump fails due to a heal, the use will be refunded.


Reaper (SK, Unconvertable):
Can consume a soul to stay alive when killed. This includes the King’s Order Execution, but not the Prince’s Execute. Being lynched will kill the reaper immediately. The Reaper starts with 2 souls.

Day Abilities:
-Chill a player. They cannot vote for the day. Costs 2 souls to use.
-Empower your Nightkill, making it bypass Bulletproof for the night. Costs 2 souls to use.

Night Abilities:
-Reap a player’s Soul, leaving them an empty husk. They will appear to be alive for a day before flipping. This Nightkill bypasses healing entirely.


Sorcerer (SK, Unconvertable):
Bulletproof, poison immune, roleblock immune.
Will not attack scum, Bulletproofs, PGO’s, and bodyguarded players. Will attack the Inquisitor despite their one use bulletproof. If they spawn, an Inquisitor will spawn as well. Unlike other SK’s, the Sorcerer wins with the scum team. If they become King, they will be an Evil King instead of a Psycho King.

Day Abilities:
-Make everyone appear magic to the Inquisitor tonight. 2 Uses.
-Hide your visits, and make yourself appear non-magic to the Inquisitor tonight. 2 Uses.

Night Abilities:
-Kill a player.
-Kill everyone visiting a player, including scum normally protected by your passive. 2 Uses.

Special Roles posted:

Mastermind (Unseen)
Roleblock Immune. Attempted roleblocks or redirects will show up as successful. If redirected, they will be told to who they would have been redirected. Also Bulletproof.
Shows up as Innocent to cop checks for the first three nights. If the Mastermind dies before Day 4, the Assassin will turn into a new Mastermind.

Day Abilities:
-Turn into the Assassin. This change is permanent and cannot be unmade after the night starts.

Night Abilities:
-Recruit a player to the Unseen. 1 night cooldown after a successful conversion. If the conversion fails three times in a row, the third attempt will instead recruit a random convertable player. Maximum of 3 Unseen. (The King does not count towards this limit.)
-Check a player’s converted class type, if they can be converted. 4 Uses.


Cult Leader (Cult)

Day Abilities:
-Sacrifice a Cult Member to Mithras. You will gain 2 more uses of Eradicate.
-Bleed a player, causing them to die within 2 nights unless healed or immune to bleeding. 4 Uses.

Night Abilities:
-Recruit a player into the Cult. 1 night cooldown after a successful conversion. If the conversion fails three times in a row, the third attempt will instead recruit a random convertable player. Maximum of 4 Cult Members. (The King does not count towards this limit.)
-Kill two players at once. They will be seen as visiting both. 3 Uses.


King (Unknown)
Immune to Roleblocks. Their role is public knowledge.
The starting King has a few changed mechanics. If the starting King is lynched and was a member of the Blue Dragon, the next day will be shortened to one real life day and no voting will be allowed.

The King can start as a Member of the Unseen, the Cult, or Blue Dragon. The starting King cannot be 3rd party, but it is possible to vote in a 3rd party King after the death of the first King. However, if the Serial Killer (unless they are the Sorcerer) gets voted into the role of King, they will become a Psycho King. The Scum Team is not aware if the King is on their side or not.

Day Abilities:
-Doublevote, which is announced to the thread. Can only be used once per day via ##Point Finger (target)

Support Roles posted:

Court Wizard (Blue Dragon)

Night Abilities:
-Place a Barrier on a player, blocking negative effects such as cult recruiting, roleblocking, Mind Warp, etc. Does not block attacks.
-Bus Drive two players. Can Bus Drive yourself. Players immune to roleblock will ignore the Bus Drive. 3 Uses.


Physician (Blue Dragon)
Immune to poison and bleeding.

Day Abilities:
-Innoculate a player, making them permanently immune to poison and bleeding. If they become the King, they will lose this effect. 1 Use.

Night Abilities:
-Heal a player and remove all poison and bleeds. Cannot target yourself.
-Heal yourself. 2 Uses.


Enforcer (Unseen, converted Knight)

Night Abilities:
-Protect a member of the unseen, preventing visits to them. 3 Uses.
-Go on a Frenzy, guaranteeing the Assassin kills their target(s). Nothing, not even being jailed by the Prince, can prevent the Assassin’s night kill from succeeding when using this ability. 1 Use.


Sage (Unseen, converted Court Wizard)

Night Abilities:
-Bus Drive two players. Can Bus Drive yourself. Players immune to roleblock will ignore the Bus Drive.
-Summon a Wall of fire around a person’s room, preventing anyone except for the Assassin from visiting them. 2 Uses.


Ritualist (Cult, converted Support)
When you are sacrificed, the Cult Leader will gain a bonus Use of Eradicate (On top of the 2 he already gains).

Night Abilities:

-Bus Drive two players. Can Bus Drive yourself. Players immune to roleblock will ignore the Bus Drive. 2 Uses.
-Make a member of the cult appear as Blue Dragon tonight. 2 Uses.


Alchemist (Neutral, Unconvertable)
Immune to poison and bleeding.

Day Abilities:
-Drink a Stoneskin Poison, making you bulletproof for the Night. 4 Uses.

Night Abilities:
-Heal a player and remove all poison and bleeds. Cannot target yourself.
-Kill a player. 2 Uses.

Their Goal is to survive until the end of the game.


Mercenary (Neutral, Unconvertable)
Immune to Roleblocks.

Day Abilities:
-Immediately make your target lynchproof. Using Force Pardon is done privately, but it will be announced to the thread that either a Mercenary or the King used Force Pardon. 1 Use.

Night Abilities:
-Prevent other players from visiting your Contract, and make yourself bulletproof for the night. 4 Uses.
-Prevent other players from visiting your contract, and kill everyone who attempts to visit them. This kill bypasses bulletproof. 1 Use.

Their goal is to win with their contract. If their contract dies, the Mercenary will still be around, but lose all abilities except voting.

Offensive Roles posted:

Butler (Blue Dragon)
Roleblock Immune.

Day Abilities:
-Serve Poisoned wine to the King. They will die at the end of the night unless healed, and unlike other poisons they will not be notified. If the King was allied to the Blue Dragon, you will suicide at the end of the night after the King’s Flip. 1 Use.

Night Abilities:
-Roleblock a player.
-Roleblock anyone visiting you, including people immune to roleblocking. 2 Uses.


Drunk (Blue Dragon)
Royal Blood.
Immune to Roleblocks.

Night Abilities:
-Force a player to target you. If you get attacked, or they tried to recruit someone into a scum team, you will be Bulletproof/immune to recruiting against that specific action.
-Remove a players protection (Bulletproof, roleblock immunity, etc) and roleblock them. 2 Uses.


Alcoholic (Unseen, converted Drunk)

Poacher (Unseen, converted Hunter)
Immune to Roleblocks.

Night Abilities:
-Place spike traps in front of a players room, roleblocking them and preventing others from visiting them.
-Place a snare trap in front a players room, roleblocking them for two nights if they leave their room.


Servant (Unseen, converted Butler)
Roleblock Immune.

Night Abilities:
-Roleblock a player.
-Roleblock anyone visiting you, including people immune to roleblocking. 2 Uses.


Invoker (Cult, converted Killer or Offensive)
Roleblock Immune.

Day Abilities: Bewilder the King, preventing them from using their Day Abilities. Does not cancel already used ones. 1 Use.

Night Abilities:
-Roleblock a player. 3 Uses.
-Force a Player to target whoever you choose. 2 Uses.

Investigative Roles posted:

Observer (Blue Dragon)

Night Abilities:
-Follow a Player, and see who visits them and who they visit.
-Peek into their window, and see their exact alignment. 2 Uses.


Paladin (Blue Dragon)

Night Abilities:
-Test a players faith, revealing them as Cult or non-cult.
-Protect a player and yourself from cult recruiting attempts. If the cult attempts to recruit either of you, it will fail and you will instead kill the cult leader. 2 Uses.


Princess (Blue Dragon)

Night Abilities:
-Flirt with a player, giving you 2 choices for their class type. The possible results are Killer/Offensive, Social/Support, and Special/Investigative.
-Send a will’o’wisp after a player, telling you if they attacked someone that night. Only detects visiting attacks. 2 Uses.


Sheriff (Blue Dragon)

Day Abilities:
-Send a Scout to watch a player. If the player gets recruited to the Unseen, you will be alerted to the fact. Stays on the target until changed.

Night Abilities:
-Investigate a player, revealing them as Unseen or non-Unseen.


Duchess (Unseen, converted Princess)

Night Abilities:
-Bat your eyelashes at a player, revealing their exact class type to you.
-Uncage a dark wisp, making ALL Unseen appear non-suspicious for the night. 2 Uses.


Marshall (Unseen, converted Sheriff)

Day Abilities:
-Expose who the Prince jails this night. 3 Uses.
