yea I recently hopped in and it really is worth it, the E2s are almost always as good as the E1s so if you like any of them there's an instant good bit, and the D&D game is pretty drat solid. Plus they do weird silly character stuff there sometimes, for sure worth it.

Yea like I get that it's super not an 'episode 1' thing so yea if you're just here for goofs and weird internet humor it's not that but it's a pretty solid discussion and it's nice to hear the actual Branson talk about something he's passionate about.

was it Branson who on the 'respectful chuckle' or whatever the NPR parody was told a terrible fake radio play so bad it made the other guys break and you could hear them saying poo poo like 'gently caress that' while he was doing mouth sound effects? The best E1s are when they're just racing to make the other guys break, I just relistened to both the recorder of deeds debate episodes and the 'feeling like' tangent they just started going on had me in tears. Feeling like The Joker putting on The Mask

yea if there's a deeper bit I missed it, it's just a solid parody of 'morning zoo crew' poo poo with an absolutely hilarious voice thrown into the mix. It's like the fishing episode, there's no real deeper joke, there's just a pretty good idea for a joke that's made fantastic when one of them does an all timer voice that wrecks the other two guys.

E1 is hilarious but they also have a genuine extremely specific gift for capturing very specific tones and boy can Branson really nail the most cringy 'I can't tell if you're a 13 year old trying to sound cool or a 45 year old trying to sound cool but boy is neither a good answer for what you've written'. Saints of Soulard is literally the most perfect parody of that kind of poo poo I've ever seen.
