So none of the nationwide parts stores sell generic spring bolt kits or universal exhaust bolt kits anymore. Had to piece something together at Lowes and reuse the springs for the time being. That's mildly irritating.

Company where I work put GeoTab telemetrics devices in all their cars last year and they're a pain in the rear end. For the most part as long as the roads are tagged correctly it's easy to not get dinged for speeding (they consider >7mph over the limit a speeding event) but the hard cornering can trigger on angled driveways, high thresholds, and turning one way then another too quickly like in a parking lot. You can carve corners on two lane roads at 60mph no problem though.  As far as the braking yeah I'd rather hit the brakes hard than hit something but I can see the idea is you don't want to get yourself into situations where you have to brake that hard in the first place. Can't account for the actions of other drivers though.

I see butts get flicked out of car windows on a regular basis and it really bothers me. That and littering in general. Ride a bike and it's just continuous garbage and beer cans along the side of every road. What the gently caress is wrong with people?

Altho TBH smoking rates in Australia have dropped considerably so you dont see anywhere near the butts on the side of the road anymore or as many ciggie packets discarded. The cancer stick rate is supposed to be 14% but I kinda think it's less than that - one of the factories I regularly go to for work got rid of smoking areas .... because out of 200 odd people who worked there no one smoked. Working out of Sydney CBD I used to have to run the gauntlett of office workers puffing away but now I think of it, I havent had to do that in a couple of years. Bikechat - 31,500kms and that bike of mine FINALLY had a mechanical failure. Broken rear derailler cable. I'm impressed it got that far without any real failures to speak of

Customer came in wanting to know the capacity of the a/c system on his car since he put 2 cans in after replacing a bunch of stuff. He said it was showing pressure in the green after the second can (which means he was using a cheap rear end gauge off a diy can instead of a proper set of gauges), but it wasn't blowing that cold. I check and hey, the systems capacity is only 24oz which is 2 regular 12oz cans. I inform the customer of this and that he likely has an issue somewhere else in the system. He tells me its all new parts, and he'd like the can with oil in it if possible. I tell him that overcharging that system with refrigerant or oil will grenade his new compressor in no time. He says he knows what hes doing. I shrug and say ok, we sell him a can of 134 with leak sealer (he picked it out). He puts it in with no gauge, decides its not cold enough and comes in to get another can. Dude now has 48oz of refrigerant in a system with a 24oz capacity and god knows how much oil. After he left I checked every way I could if we sold him the parts for that car so we could avoid warrantying it for the dipshit. Couldn't find a record of him buying it from us, so hes gonna be someone else's problem.

How much you wanna bet he didn't pull a vacuum? Or.... maybe even not replace the receiver/dryer? Speaking of.. the ac in the Negative Ion is pretty lackluster. It was a lot better in the Ionry (until the compressor died). I, uh, used one of those single hose kits to add some (it was short cycling before that), which improved it significantly, but I really need to get a proper set of gauges again. It's a variable displacement compressor that just runs nonstop if the ac is on, I'm not sure how that'll affect pressures - I should just vacuum it, then weigh in the charge. I know it holds 16 oz total, and I know the system has been opened before (condenser isn't original). I think part of the problem is the fact I'm driving a black car with a black interior again, the heat is loving brutal in it (though the Ionry had a black interior too). The outside temp sensor sits next to one of the headlights, in front of the condenser - so if the radiator fan is running, it should be drawing outside temp air past it. Got this after idling for 15 minutes today, in the shade. I saw a group of punks in Logan Square, like actual punks from the 80's. Black leather everything, combat boots, fingerless gloves, chains, piercings, mohawks, liberty spikes, black makeup and nail polish, smoking real cigarettes... it was surreal The 80's and early 90's have been bleeding back into modern trends, is punk rock making a comeback too? I've been waiting for the 4th wave of ska for a while now

Finally saw Infinity War and the only word I can describe it with is Bizarre because not only because of the amount of dead heros, but the amount of times they had an opportunity to put a stop to it completely loving up. All of the Guardians are dead besides the racoon, seriously? IDGI And as far as making future movies the only thing i can think of is the surviving Avengers find all the Dragon Balls and wish everyone back to life. I've been on a hardcore 70s movie kick as of late. Watching "Special Delivery"(1976) and the dude just delivered the line "goodnight sweet prince" and i laughed. modern memes creeping into old movies. Also recently watched/rewatched: Paper Moon(1973): funny as hell, so much poo poo you just couldn't get away with these days in terms of the scams they pull. noticed reference made by the Simpsons Dirty Mary Crazy Larry(1974): kinda scatterbrained, worth a watch The Driver(1978): always worth a watch, basically the inspiration for "baby driver", that poor Merc  The Last Picture Show(1971): Man, Jeff Bridges was hot. Also, Man, Cybil Sheppard was hot(she's also in Special delivery) I find it funny how each era of movies has a "feel" to it, almost perfectly separated by decade. the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s all feel like they're miles apart. It almost seems as though modern blockbusters all follow the same formula as batman begins, from 2005(yeah, 13 years ago).
