The basic idea is decent, and if it were with more left-wing oriented representatives could be great and help less developed countries improve and guarantee peace. But... yeah.

I hope I'm wrong about this but I feel it's only gonna get worse. I will say that I think EU did good at least trying to accept migrants and manage that situation without deploying guns at the borders.

I think overall I agree that it has done good for the world, I am just skeptical of it's ability to last in a world we seem to be approaching, with climate change and the right wing rise on the horizon. A lot of that skepticism is rooted in the neolib bullshit, naturally

You know, that's an interesting point. Did poo poo like the hidden invasion of Crimea even happen during the Cold War? Obviously, there were proxy wars in non-european locations, and grandstandings like the Cuban Missile Crisis, but has there ever been anything quite like what's happening, y'know, right now? (also proxy conflicts haven't stopped, they're just less overt than during the cold war)

I am loving amazed that there wasn't a reaction to this other than a sassy cartoon about it. Got some sources so I can see the rot? I know spanish so I can make out written portuguese if I squint By the Ronaldo case you're referring to the rape case, right? That poo poo was real crazy, I saw even english speaking people trip over themselves to defend him and to 'withhold judgement' while facts of the case were just so in favor of the girl's story it's crazy (the whole bit with asking to write a letter to him does not sound like someone trying to extort money).

Reddit threads (I know I know) about this are a loving cesspool if you check what got deleted from the thread, and that's English speaking people. I can only imagine how bad it is in the place where the guy is considered a god.

https://twitter.com/MSWiA_GOV_PL/status/1278997437915561984 Polish government (this is the official twitter of the Internal Affairs Ministry) is gonna give firetrucks to the sub-20k counties with highest tournout in the presidential runoff per every voivodeship - according to the Soviet era map, that is, because this plan backfired on them in the first round using the new map and the winners were overwhelmingly against the incumbent. dex_sda has issued a correction as of 14:47 on Jul 3, 2020 |

Polish government delegalised abortion for basically any reason. In response, a protest broke out in front of Kaczynski's home - he's the de facto ruler of Poland. https://www.facebook.com/GazetaZoliborza/videos/347065926520639/

Well yes, and I'd like some good perspectives of it for a comrade who's very eurooptimist

I'll look into Yanis myself thanks stork an mr lenin. but I'd still like a nice article or two, it doesn't have to be deep but comprehensive would be great. Like I said it's not for me, I already know the dark side of EU but it's something i absorbed from dozens of sources and so I can't bring the evidence to bear readily when debating someone who's otherwise a comrade

My own country massively benefited from the EU funding (and now we're stonewalling it into misery with the veto inshallah) so my friend doesn't know, he just absorbed the 'bad greece' thing. It's kinda hard to convince someone with general knowledge from osmosis as opposed to solid theory I have in other leftist thought, you know?
