We should also ban heel hooks, armbars, kimuras, all strikes to the head as those may also cause damage.

As is, the only current strikes that are banned can either cause paralysis or death or are considered cheating. The argument about strikes to the knee always boils down to "I could not figure out a way around this strategy so it should be illegal."

Which category, exactly, do 12 to 6 elbows fall under?

Also, you can kick someone in the loving head. Pretty sure that has the ability to cause paralysis or death.

I never said that all dangerous strikes are banned, I just said that of the banned strikes, that is the reason given by the commissions (hence 12-6 elbows banned due to the bullshit danger they perceived).

lmao at that guy not realizing strikes aren't banned because they're cheating, they're cheating because they're banned. what the gently caress is a 'cheating strike' if not one that's banned by the rules?

we have the rules we do now mostly because it's about what regulating bodies would stomach after the JCVD-esque Bloodsports that were the early UFCs

Are you trying to argue that people don't perceive lowblows and headbutts as cheating in a "fair fight" even if not codified by the rules?

My main point is there are other strikes and submissions that also target the knee area so banning one for doing that sort of damage is very stupid.
