I've found this channel as of late.

While an Apple fan, he does manage to have very thoughtful views and clearly puts a great deal of effort into writing his script. Which is pretty rare on Youtube. He also actually does meaningful research. Which is nice.

I got a Tekton kit (https://www.tekton.com/everybit-tech-rescue-kit-28301) that comes in a little pouch and is super portable that I really like. It has some great stuff packed in there from all the spudgers to the suction cup puller to the magnetic spot for screws.

The screwdriver is nice and solid too. Has all the bits I need, a+ would buy again.

This is part of my work carry. Exceptional carry kit.

I think a lot of it is practical special effects.

Some of it is fake and some of is Electroboom being smart and having a good understanding what's safe. Though the guy did nearly kill himself when a jacob's ladder contraption fell over and he caught with his hands.

Linus Tech Tips is fixing their off-site backup server after literal years of neglect:

Note that during the time they've been without an off-site backup they've had their server room catch fire due to a faulty/improperly installed UPS and also did a major remodel of their office (which definitely brings no increased chances of major disasters to their building). Also note that this "new" backup server is so old that it had OCZ SSDs installed as the boot drive. Also also note that Linus pretty much straight-up says he's managed to piss off all his sponsors for server-grade hardware (so they won't send him any more freebies for a while) which is why he's deploying such an ancient server for this purpose.

I'm sure they figure if they have a major storage disaster that it would still make for a good video that week lol.

Am I the only one who falls asleep almost immediately when trying to listen to a Gamers Nexus video? Like, he clearly knows his poo poo very well, he has a lot of great information and good content, make no mistake. But on multiple occasions, even when I wasn't tired, the droning monotone that never really starts or stops once the video begins has genuinely put me to sleep, to the point where I've kind of given up on being able to watch his stuff, even if it's on a topic I'm interested in.

I'll sit there, brow furrowed, trying my best to concentrate and keep myself alert as I stare at the screen and listen, and and then he opens his mouth, and it just all kind of...blurs...around my senses.

It sucks, because, as I've already said, he's great at all the useful information stuff.

I feel like his format should really be print. His scripts are very print like.

I don't think he deserves to get mocked for the rest of his life over it

I almost think he deserves it. Since to this day he absolves himself of any wrong doing, and everyone who disagrees is an 'angry nerd who is jealous that they don't have a computer as good as his.'

I saw him streaming Tarkov last year. Which of course he touted as being someone who knew stuff about the game/been playing it for a while. But proceeded to get many fundamental things wrong about it and was basically making rookie mistakes the entire time. Like bringing magazines into a raid that didn't even fit in his gun. It was absolutely fascinating. He also made all kinds of weird excuses for his mistakes too.

I find him in general to be a pretty interesting person. Only because I never ever want to be so out of touch with what's going on around me as he was.
