LOL, if you willingly produce and publish a "fluff video" about what's it's like to work at your company and there is universal agreement from your employees that they're overworked, they think you're making poor quality content, and they can't be proud of the content you put out. Imagine what an actual critique of the workplace would look like if that was the fluff.

A real honest takedown of LTT’s quality issues would have spent twenty minutes discussing nobody in the editing process knowing the difference between a pad and a tampon.

I do love the gambit they are pulling. “We either say we’re at risk of tax fraud or admit that we sold a third party prototype without their permission, lied about it, and are now trying to find it.” I suppose the best option is the best of both world’s. They went to find out who they sold it to because they wanted to get it back/return it because they were called out publicly. They realized that they didn’t keep any records of who they took money from, and now have that much larger tax issue on their hands.

My general rule of thumb is when a company is in meltdown mode because of credible "everyone in power at this company loving sucks and is toxic" allegations, I stop saying things like "Poor [other person in power]." Not for any moral or ethical reason, but because I don't want to be quoted and dunked on in 20 minutes when the next thing drops.

We’re here to prove we’re not a terribly toxic work environment by firing a low level employee after we allowed him to represent our company on camera without any sort of editorial oversight which ultimately brought to attention larger systemic top-down issues that exist in our company.

Does high-end benchmarking even have any real-world purpose anymore? Especially with things like DLSS? "The 3090ti at 1440p upscaled to 4k with DLSS set to High quality with ray tracing enabled achieves an average 161 fps. In comparison, the vastly superior 4090 achieves 1440p upscaled to 4k with DLSS set to Ultra quality with ray tracing enabled achieved an average 168 fps."

Here's the most useful study I can actually find on the matter of high refresh rates: https://www.nature.com/articles/srep07861 It certainly isn't a great study (10 subjects only) but from what I can understand of it: Humans can detect a light flicker up to 500hz under absolutely perfect conditions, (singular large blocks that flicker back and forth.) Like maybe the only useful gaming application of a 500hz monitor would be pong. But perhaps most interestingly, is the fact that if you don't have crisp edges that sensitivity goes down. So it's very possible that a 500hz 1080p monitor is actually worse than a 1440p 360hz monitor because you lose the ability to distinguish the change/speed the muddier the image is.

I was trying to calculate the actual advantage you could possibly imagine to gain on a 500hz vs. 240hz monitor when the argument for these is competitive shooters whose servers run at a 120 tickrate. Then I realized it's just audiophile level bullshit that can't be reasoned with and I should probably get a life.

The fun part about talking about first computers is that there's basically always someone to one-up the last person. Someone will talk about their P2, I'll talk about my Apple IIe, someone will talk about their Atari, eventually you get to some old gently caress talking about punch cards.
