Do you think they are every going to patch wall-running back in to the next gen versions?

I was really excited to do lots of cool cyborg feats of athleticism & strength like my favorite robot hero, Adam Jensen. That announcement genuinely bummed me out more than any of the 3 delays.

Gotta admit the true doomers in the thread who are convinced that CDPR have just completely jettisoned all their talent and are going to release a bad game no one likes are ... I mean you folks just seem to be like ignoring objective reality to make yourself mad, it’s weird,

It isn't the type of feature they removed because 'lack of power' in current consoles, so surely no. Or if they re-add it one day, it won't be only on next gen versions.

Yeah. Maybe one of the DLCs will add it, but I doubt it.

If you want Cyberpunk wall-running Ghostrunner is alright. 20% off at the moment too.

No chance. They dropped wall running because it was a bitch to design levels around not because of any mechanical difficulties implementing it. You either have a game with environments and quests designed with wall running in mind or you don't.

Protesters burn it down and then CDPR reveals there was no actual game and it was all just a big ARG to promote protests against capitalism and corruption.

Apparently Avowed takes place in the same world as Pillars of Eternity. So that's interesting.

Eh, maybe. I(and about a billion other people) had plenty of fun with Skyrim back in the day at least. I can't remember the last fun thing Obsidian made. Pillars of Eternity was one of the most aggressively unfun RPGs I've ever played.

I thought i was the only one thinking this. I don't know why it failed to tick this much for me. I loved baldur's gate, planescape torment, the divinity original sin games, and kingmaker.

Pillars just gets a massive "ehhhhhhhhhhhh" from me over and over.

Seconding - I didn't finish Pillars 1, deadfire was a riot all the way to the end even if my story's end was a bit lackluster. I'm still contemplating going back for some of the uber bosses.

There have been ongoing and worldwide protests for ~6 months now. It started as a movement against police brutality in the US and has morphed into a general anti-Capitalist/authoritarian vibe in many locales, exacerbated by economic unrest and general inactivity from the pandemic.

Poland, specifically, is now protesting some new, draconian abortion laws, if I am keeping up with things (lol, welcome to the singularity?).

NYTs posted:

Tens of thousands of women took to the streets in dozens of Polish cities and towns for a nationwide strike on Wednesday to protest a top court’s decision to ban nearly all abortions, even as the nation’s leading politician urged his conservative supporters to “defend Poland.”

The call by Jaroslaw Kaczynski, the deputy prime minister and leader of the ruling Law and Justice party, to fight back against the protesters and his description of the opposition as “criminals” seeking to “destroy the Polish nation,” threatened to escalate an already tense moment in the deeply divided nation.

“This is the only way we can win this war,” Mr. Kaczynski said, using martial language that critics said served as a call to arms.

His remarks, made in a speech to Parliament on Wednesday and in a video posted Tuesday night to his supporters on Facebook, came as protests stretched into a sixth straight day and drew in the Roman Catholic Church, with demonstrators interrupting Mass, vandalizing church facades and staging sit-ins at cathedrals as they held coat hangers aloft to symbolize dangerous abortions.

One group of women donned long red dresses and white bonnets meant to evoke the subjugated women in the Handmaid’s Tale novel and television series and marched into a cathedral and down the aisle between worshipers.

The women protesting the abortion ruling have been joined by a host of other groups opposed to what they see as the authoritarian drift of the ruling party. The ban on abortion — made by a court ruling that is not subject to appeal — was for many the culmination of a multiyear effort by the ruling party to undermine the rule of law and, step by step, take control of the judicial system.

Well that's why i asked, there've been plenty of controversy with the company (trans stuff, crunch, etc) so I was just wondering if somehow that worked itself into a company specific protest
