All the screenshots are with everything on Ultra, and you sure as hell won't be able to run the game at 60fps with everything on ultra with the minimum reqs. But... that's how games work?

Everything is gonna look blurrier and less detailed on Low, and you may have to run on Medium or Low depending upon how old your hardware is, but its not going to just... not run.

Apply that to the screenshots and trailers you've seen.

In the novel Hardwired, all the serious drivers/pilots are riding in the 'Face. People who don't know any better might mistake them for electronic junkies who jack their porn straight to their brain, and in a sense they're not wrong - Pedals and a steering wheel are outright primitive compared to driving by the seat of your brain, with a full sensor suite from the visual spectrum all the way down to low frequency radio waves, and dynamically controlling the ECU as if it was a part of your body. Where you're going, you won't need your eyes to see.

I've gotta check that out. It's on my list for after the Sprawl stuff, been getting a bunch of recs on here. Could we get a bit of a sell on it? A "hard sell" you might say? Does it get gripping and really rad I imagine? Just ask since I read the Amazon preview, which was cool, and had that driving stuff, but didn't place itself right at the top of my to read pile. But no doubt it's cool.

Finally read Johnny Mnemonic by the way, that was really really cool. And it just grabs me from page 1 with the style and fast pace to it. Will be rocking Neuromancer soon, and likely the whole trilogy, plus the ol' Hardwired, you name it.

Its definitely both if you look, they're not even the same meshes or textures. But like, yeah? Running at lower resolution is one of the caveats at playing a game on weaker hardware.

That picture is definitely taken to the extreme, but it makes the point.

TheRat

I dont think it makes the point, since the point seems to have been what the game would look like on minimum spec. Nobody is going to give you minimum spec that expects ultra low res

If you activate a key from CDkeys they will not refund you. You can get a refund from them if you havent used the key but once it's activated it's gone and they can't "recover" the product from you so they won't refund.

edit: oh and if you're spending money on a new motherboard see if theres any cheap nvme m2 cards at the same place, they're roughly ten times faster than SSDs and under $100 for 500GB. You wont' see load times change like a platter to SATA SSD transition but it does shave something noticeable off load times.

Oh and saying stuff like this is super misleading. Not all M.2 SSDs are created equal, and while the good ones are stupid fast like you say, there are a lot of cheaper, weaker ones which are nowhere near as good. Also a lot of those cheaper ones are bad in other ways (reliability, longevity, heat). I would never pick up a rando SSD off a shelf without researching it.

Not only that, spinning rust can hit 120-180MB/s transfers, SATA SSD up to 550MB/s, and PCIe 3 NVMe can hit 3500+MB/s. The jump from a good SATA SSD to a good NVMe SSD is actually more, percentage wise, than HD to SATA SSD. Definitely check the rated speeds before you buy though, the cheaper ones can be 1500 MB/s instead of 3k+

Also if you want PCIe 4.0 (for the 5000+ MB/s SSDs) currently AMD boards are the only option, I don't think the current Intel chipsets support it yet. That will inform your choice of processor, although the current AMD crop are supposed to be very good indeed.

In Hardwired the Corporations won, they ascended to heaven, and when governments attempted to reassert control, the Corporate Blocs retaliated by dropping rocks down the orbital well, destroying cities, killing millions and fracturing nations. But it wasn't enough, although they had the stars they weren't free from the mud, they still needed resources, they still needed trade. High grade Orbital goods, like pharmaceuticals, computer cores, and cybernetic implants were relatively cheap around the space ports close to equator, but the further away from the Free Trade Zones the harder these products are to come by. Individual states would impose tariffs and restrictions and eke out a living on goods passing through their territory, getting to the point that it was more profitable to run contraband around the laws rather than with them. At first they'd run contraband through the air, in stealthed up jets called Deltas, and the Delta Jocks were born, pilots who flew their jets through the 'face, one with their machines. But soon the technological tide would turn, air defenses became impenetrable and the Deltas would be replaced by Panzers, uparmoured ground effect vehicles driven by Panzerboys and Panzergirls, still running the line and delivering the goods. And that's where the story kicks off.

It's always so confusing :cloud:

Build for my cousin 2 months ago, pretty drat fast. The M2SSD is maybe too show offy, Samsung SSD 970 EVO 1TB, M.2 would suffice.

AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
ASRock X570 Pro4 (MoBo doesnt really matter, i wanted an external usb-c socket)
Patriot Viper VP4100 1TB, M.2
Crucial Ballistix weiß DIMM Kit 32GB, DDR4-3600, CL16
(2070super)

Power supply doesnt matter, should be around 500W for safety, although the CPU is less power hungry than intel
The CPU cooler cant be too wide, else the RAM is in the way. So no media pc top down coolers. Tower or stock or coolers with more space under it are ok.

Please use the PC Part Picking thread! They know a lot about the interplay of components and which price premiums are worth it. (Samsung usually is not, for example, with WD/XDATA preferred.) It's a magical resource, unparalleled on the internet IMO.

E: I don't mean that as an insult to the build you put together for your cousin, but a) it's a better place for the discussion, and b) there is a lot of room for "stuff doesn't fit" or "if you plug that in you lose your other SATA ports" sorts of interactions, and it really is hard to overstate the amount of expertise in that thread, eager to help people spend money well.

Holy poo poo this is great. I'm a sucker for these super techy things focusing on a single system.

In the early run throughs, the eyebrows are distracting as gently caress and feel like theyre moving too much, but then they add in neck movement and the eyebrows suddenly look perfect.

And then they show Judy delivering the line in game and it's seamless.
