Guy meets girl, girl likes guy, girl demands passwords to guy's email, Facebook, and Reddit accounts to monitor for untoward behavior - after all, if you've got nothing to hide amirite? this was a long while back. there was this girl who i semi-regularly engaged in sexual intercourse with and i was very close to making my girlfriend. i gave her the passwords to my porn site accounts so that she could see premium poo poo i'd bought, but she also went through my comments history and private playlists and thus i had to leave her once those things were brought up. all my passwords are now hexadecimal and changed on a rotating basis. my sensitive files encrypted and browser history never saved ever. i use duckduckgo for search and sensitive searches are done from a safe computer in my safehouse out in the sticks. i won't repeat peter madsen's mistakes. No, but it’s never really come up. I don’t feel like I need my husband’s passwords for anything. I learned like 10 years ago that nothing good comes from snooping anyway.

We share PINs and passwords yes. We trust each other and have nothing to hide. We also know the other person isn't going to go snooping into Facebook accounts and whatnot. E: that's not to say that people that don't share these things don't trust each other. Sometimes it just doesn't come up.

No, not really. My wife knows my pin, but we have a shared account now so it doesn't really matter. Otherwise, we don't really know each other's passwords other than things like streaming services and even then, I have to tell her every time she gets a new phone/device and needs to log in to it. We also don't have an "insecure couple shared Facebook account. Those are the worst.

its been awhile since ive seriously dated someone, and i didnt share passwords before. i dont know if i have new insecurities though. i think if i was married or long term partnership i would share my atm pin. i guess a lot of accounts would get consolidated, and i dont really use social media, so i guess im just guarding my computer and SA passwords...

We both share passwords and PINs freely, but we've never asked each other to give them. It's generally a laziness/convenience thing("hey check this for me pls"). I have no desire to know his passwords, he has no desire to know mine(if either of us did, we would be in counseling). We both know each other's PIN. I don't share any account info with him, and he doesn't with me. That being said we trust each other and leave our phones lying around, knowing that neither will snoop. I respect his right to privacy and the feeling is mutual. (To be completely honest I don't care about him seeing my messages, but wouldn't want him seeing my weird porn)

I have all of hers now. Cuz she's dead.  We generally kept our stuff separate but sometimes would share stuff if it was cheaper / more convenient, whatever. I think it's one of those things that's just a case-by-case basis but the people that let SO's have full access to poo poo like your mail email is like uh...kinda weird. At least in my opinion. I wouldn't stop her from browsing my email if I left it open or whatever, but she was chill and didn't really go diggin through my poo poo ever anyway so no big deal.
