Vader once got his own eye punched out and popped it back in. Because he loving ruled.

Vader had the best little man vs. big man match I have ever seen. Because he loving ruled.

Vader died today, and we should remember him. Because he loving ruled.

I am not sad that he passed. Instead, I am grateful that he ever existed.

I was trying to pick a match to represent his time in Japan or in WCW but I couldn't pick just one.

He was without a doubt the best big man the sport has ever seen.

I don't think I ever would have watched a second of WCW pre-1997 if the mastodon armour wasn't the first thing I'd seen of the company on TV.

The WCW movies were rad and are so charming.

Scour away!

Even as a young person it felt like bullshit that Vader didn't beat HBK. I didn't see much of his WCW work but he clearly deserved better than he got in the WWF.

Then I saw early WCW matches in college and was like "This is my favorite wrestler ever"

I missed Vader's prime in the US, only seeing a couple matches with the likes of Sting and Mick Foley, which were all good. My main exposure to Vader comes from digging through the New Japan archives, and he was one of the highlights of that whole project. Vader loving ruled.

All of his matches with Tatsumi Fujinami are tremendous, both his matches with Stan Hansen are great, and any match with Bam Bam Bigelow(as a team, or opponents) is a delight.

I also liked the implication that went Hogan awakens in an unfamiliar place he immediately looks for nearby Hulkamaniacs.

That gif reminds me of something else about Vader that ruled.

He came off as incredibly jacked despite being fat. Like, he was legitimately physically impressive with his shirt off in a way no other big dude ever was.
