I'm not really sure what marcia is doing. Was she trying to tank the sale? Is she mad that he's not telling her about his plans for the next CEO? I'm pretty confident she's not actually mad about new world wine.

IMO by just being herself she was actually helping Logan's cause. For all his machinations I don't think he was coming off as a good husband, and I think Marcia saw that she could impress Nan just by being a smart, confident woman.

I think Nan ended up mentioning how she was impressed that Logan didn't choose a certain "other" type of woman for his wife, i.e. a young model or whatever.

But wasn't she actually mad at him in private? And she also seemed to be legitimately drunk. Maybe she fooled me, dunno.

Also that comment about the new world wines was really special.

I felt like I was missing with whatever they were doing with Marcia, but laughed when Nan asked her to be there for the meeting and Logan didn't bring her, then the first thing that Nan asked when Logan walked into the room was "Where is your wife?"

Remember when the manslaughter cover up was being described to Kendall and her son was in the room for some reason?

And remember how she reacted when Logan floated the retirement idea?

Idk she's spooky.

Logan calling Kendall "killer" was one of those clever moments where you don't know what he really means but at the same time you probably do. Also the housekeeper/maid in the house giving Kendall that sad look after she came downstairs with his soiled sheets was one of those little moments that really make this show.

Her son was in the room because he witnessed Kendall coming back soaking wet. Which just can't be a coincidence.

I missed this, but I really did appreciate the scene where Nan goes into the kitchen to get the main dish, walking out to the applause of family and Roys, and the woman trails behind her and stands in the doorway to see the reaction to the dish that SHE prepared but Nan gets the glory for.

And Nan cajoled that same woman to have a drink and hang out with all the billionaires, as if that’s something she ever invites her to do when there isn’t company to show off for, and the woman begged off, knowing she had to finish making that dish perfectly so Nan could take credit for it

This episode was loving top notch. The Pierces were perfect, Shiv’s outburst, Tom’s continual humiliation, and most of all Greg’s entrance at the end (excuse me, Gregory) which made me laugh harder than anything yet. Not to mention the overall message that money always trumps whatever stated values the wealthy might claim to have. Just perfect.

They need to do something with Tom. He’s basically worthless now, and other than his interaction with Gregory, he’s annoying.

I hope they use him as a scapegoat for the Cruise mishap and he then takes Gregory with him to seek revenge against the Roy’s.

He was fine up through s2 ep 3 imo, but revealing that he's outright incompetent at work (rather than just out of his depth) hurt the character.

I dont like how senior he is, it made more sense when I thought he was just off somewhere harmless in the organization as opposed to being in board meetings with Logan. But I'm sure he'll do something, his whole situation seems really unstable right now.

I dunno, I felt like his behaviour always made his incompetence clear. Maybe it's just that I work with Toms, but that kind of loud, meta self-aggrandizement natter, saying "Time for the real meeting" before contributing almost nothing, the stuff he'd been spouting out at the office since S1 is usually wallpaper over nothing.

I just thought he was just not contributing much and holding boring pointless meetings like any number of mediocre managers. When he starts pelting greg with water bottles and yelling at a guy eating potato chips and using guys as a footstool he's a total liability. Obviously its fiction so some exaggeration is like fine but it was like more egregious than michael scott.

I don't really think Tom is incompetent at work. I think because he always trying to kiss both Logan and Shiv's asses, he ends up in situations were he has no idea how to move forward because those two are usually on the opposite side of an argument. I think he'll be able to do a whole lot more once he realizes that siding with Shiv is pointless, because all she's gonna do is disagree with Logan when he's not around. When her dad pushes her, she crumbles, becomes a yes man, and then leaves Tom hanging out to dry.

Yo it’s Succ Night, where everyone at? We here for you.

Another good one, though they’re relying on the bottle episode format of having everyone gathered at some event quite a bit this season. I definitely loved seeing the three dipshits power struggle in public. And they seem to be setting up Roman as the next one to try to make moves against Logan. I guess everyone’s going to get a turn; then again maybe it’s just misdirection. Kendall seemed to be the only one who genuinely spoke to the immorality of the scandal, though it doesn’t necessarily make him any better since he ended up just strategizing the PR moves like everyone else. Shiv seems to have no actual opinions about things, she just takes the opposite position of whatever Kendall just said...it seemed at first like she would be a competent ceo but drat she is just botching every opportunity she’s been given. She has to be squarely on Logan’s poo poo list at this point.

Get hosed Logan, good to see things crumbling in his face finally after he's been getting his way for so long. I expected the episode to end with him clutching his chest and erratic heartbeat sounds, he seems ready for the Death Pit.

Succession also won Best Main Theme Creative Arts Emmy, a prelude to next year (or maybe next week) when the shadow of that other show is finally lifted.
