It's your own bloody fault.
It's a lovely, sunny summer day.

A great day to enjoy a crisp, cool beer in the sun. Or in my case, a chilled cider.

I tried some of this - the idea of a cider part- brewed from berries seemed like it could have some interesting and complex tastes. The packaging makes it seems somewhat sophisticated.

Mother fucker is just cider and black in a can. i.e. cider and Ribena

I haven't drunk this poo poo since I was 17 and wearing black jeans and a metallica t-shirt.

I would probably drink the gently caress out of at least one of these and then go "urgh that was way too sweet".

Having said that, I'm on Dry July so I won't be partaking in anything all month.

A few months back 14 inch picked up a long-sought-after stereo for me during his dental trip. I won't get to deep into the details of how much I wanted it because I'm a selfish prick.

About 20 minutes after powering it on and having it run, the it ate its bridge rectifier and a few random PSU transistors on the secondary power supply. Since then, it's been sitting in the corner until I had time to work on it.

This past week was midterms for my first (of five) semesters, and this upcoming week only has two classes as a kind of refractory period, so I decided to open it back up. My supplies are limited, but I do have a few baggies of generic poly capacitors and standard 1N4007 diodes. Like AvE says, if it's hosed you can't gently caress it any more, so why not take a shot at fixing it?

This area got a bit hot when it self-destructed, and took out the traces on the bottom of the board

I've got a few sins to atone for, add this to the pile

As well as my temporary heatsink for the improper transitor

Funny enough it's running right now just fine with that exploded diode (that broke on my first resurrection attempt), but the radio sound output is poo poo. I should probably replace that. But otherwise its running right now, and that's better than not at all. I am not ashamed.

That's in between the joists right where the post was, and it all looks original.

Would that piece in between the joists even be able to hold any load? I mean wouldn't have been smarter to put the post directly under the joist if it was meant for any kind of support? I don't get it.

As far as rain deflection, could be because it does not drain off that side at all, the water drains off the pitched part of the roof and makes a hard left creating a giant waterfall at the entrance of the car port even if it's pouring rain it will not go off the side of the roof with the posts on it.

Turns out that busted diode was on the lighting circuit for the add-on CD unit, meaning the button lights flicker a bit when it has higher load, like changing CDs. No biggie, gonna throw a big cap on there and play it as is.

You kinda answered it yourself. If a new one is only $300, who is going to pay for parts and service on fixing one? Seems like nearly any repair would rapidly equal the replacement cost.

If they're like any small refrigerator I've ever seen, they may not even have refrigerant service ports.

Depending on the fault I'd personally at least give it a quick stab of the ol' AVE "can't gently caress it any worse". But then again I live in AZ so I would probably have about five minutes to do that before getting sent to the store to replace the fucker.

I guess as the thread HVAC/R tech here, yeah, you crazy bruh.

Nobody is really going to waste their time with a windowshaker, since pretty much any service for it is going to cost as much if not more than a unit. And for the most part, they're really not designed to be serviceable. Speaking of spark plugs, has anyone heard of ruthenium spark plugs yet? I found a listing for some ngk ones on a subaru this week and was kinda intrigued. Some basic googling turned up a patent for ruthenium in spark plugs by federal mogul ignition (Champion), but nothing that really went hardcore into where it falls compared to platinum or iridium plugs.

"She claims."

If it's not in writing and signed by a judge, then it's her rear end when she doesn't drop off the kids right on time. Write everything down that she's saying and doing, with date and time. Take a breath, call your lawyer. If she or her mother have any particular vices it sounds as though they need to be documented, because they've made their warning shot.

(There's a part of me that thinks you should sell your guns for a dollar to someone who will simply hold them and sell them back for a dollar after it's all said and done. "Judge, I'm so committed to maintaining a healthy and safe household for these children that I sold all of my guns. Here's the bill of sale." But In Tennessee probably no one gives a poo poo except a vindictive ex-wife and her equally vindictive mother.)
