I think the Honda e looks extremely cute and would def consider it for a city runabout here in Euroland. May be less appealing if everyone else is in a Dodge Ram I guess.

More FUD from an ICE owner. Seriously Gus, why do you hate Tesla so much? Did Trevor Milton pay you to write these articles, or did the oil industry pay you?

It's amazing that I'm being down voted on an EV website for pointing out that the author doesn't have an EV and doesn't want one! LOL Just goes to show how many anti-EV trolls hang around on this site!

There's a company that makes aftermarket tesla suspension parts that has a line specifically for correcting manufacturing issues. Will see if I can find it.

In all seriousness I am interested to see if any of these promises happen. I am equally excited to see what novel failure modes are introduced by moving quickly and breaking stuff.

As I understand it the new cells mostly lead to reduced manufacturing costs rather than any performance benefit. Let's see

They're the tabless batteries which are 5x more powerful (but also 5x bigger).

It is not that easy to find the purported benefits tbh but I think it's that the batteries are physically stronger so need less mass to support them, and may need less cooling. Other manufacturers might use that to improve the cooling so their cars can complete more than one lap of a racetrack, but that is not really the style here.

I'm always surprised at US posters saying German cars are unreliable. I've certainly had zero issues. Here in Switzerland to pull numbers out of my rear end it seems like 75% of cars are German and it's not like there are broken down cars all over the place.

Are the roads in the US just so hosed up that a ladder frame truck with leaf springs is actually a reasonable engineering choice?

Also Tesla tried to send them cars that had been registered already which would have meant they were ineligible for BEV grants. Tut tut. (article is from last year, but yeh)

My last car was an Audi and had start/stop and it was completely fine. It does seem sensible to stop queues of traffic pointlessly spewing out exhaust gas
New one is lectric so doesn't need it.

In summer I turn off my (petrol) bike when I'm stationary in traffic because it just gets too loving hot, especially when the fans get going and blast you with 100C air.

Same for turning off the bike as well. Please don't turn off your bike during a traffic stop. Especially not if it's so hot the fan comes on.

By the way this is all written in every vehicle owner's manual

Counterpoint: it does not say that in the manual or in the manual of any of my previous bikes, and is also fine.

Well, electric cars are nice to drive, and the one thing Tesla genuinely has in the US over other manufacturers is the charging network. Established car manufacturers have been ignoring the sector for years but are now being forced to make EVs, and as a result are going to absolutely gently caress Tesla.
