It's entirely possible that brake-by-wire was implemented earlier than the 2014 season, but that's the first season where I know for sure it was.

The thing about axles load limits on trucks is it only applies to bridges. there's no effective weight limit on roads, so a cement truck could rumble down your street with its tags up and not care. If they enforced weight limits for standard roads and not bridges, the industry would revolt.
