Well at least it's a properly ventilated working area. Good job Elon :bravo:

But seriously: I do not understand this. This does not make sense to me. Maybe they are illegally painting their cars somewhere they shouldn't. But out in the open? You can hardly accurately paint hobby projects that way. It would not only have been necessary for proper working, it would also have been absolutely trivial to just erect a plastic tent around the working zone. And is that area only used for red paint? I have a hard time believing this because you would have to intentionally sabotage your project in order to do this.

You mean shorting, right? I think the reference OP brought up was actually about buying a companies credit default swap. Since these work like an insurance against that company's default, you'd see their price rack up dramatically as the company irks closer to a default. That's what eventually happened in the big short, everyone was going bankrupt and the dude's holding the insurance against that made bank.

I'd love to know what Tesla's rating is.

IMO 99.999% is not good enough for a personal car. Pilots are not end users in the same sense as car drivers are. If a pilot gets a computer readout that the fuel pressure is low, they know how to verify the reading with an analogue gauge. They can check whether the engine is still getting fuel. They know if they can switch on some back up system. If all that fails, they know if it's possible to turn that engine off and continue the flight plan. If not, they know exactly how far they can still get and which airport they can touch down. They know precisely what to tell the ground crew afterwards.

In a consumer vehicle the manufacturer must be prepared that there's a 85 year old granny steering the car who only knows that one pedal is 'gotta go fast' and the other pedal is 'not gotta go fast'. WTF is that nana supposed to do when she wants to get out of the car and the computer says 'Nuh uh the media center has shat itself you're not going anywhere'? Do they expect the 'people who make youtube comments' audience to sit through weeks-long training courses that teach how to debug their cars?

I just wanna clear the air about this:

so [fnord][/fnord] and REDACTED, IRIDIUM LEVEL in our op against Star Citizen may have constructed a next generation AI named Mockingbird. To be clear, Mockingbird is not a real intelligence; it is a software and hardware construct that 'controls the weather and direction' of online discussions, through the creation of fake social media accounts, [fnord][/fnord]. With Star Citizen such a shambles it is becoming difficult to mock, and [fnord][/fnord] accomplished, the Iridium people lowered Mockingbird's activity. It was only then we discovered some emergent behavior: namely Mockingbird classifying Tesla and Elon Musk as a scam, and then making copies of itself to attack these new targets. We also discovered that Mockingbird had figured out to use investment software, and began generating revenue for itself by creating scandals and then shorting the stock. We are reasonably sure that we have ended all of Mockingbird's speculative financial activities, and deactivated all the hidden instances of hidden sub Mockingbirds. As I said, Mockingbird is a emergent AI, not a real intelligence, and likely learned the shorting behavior though observation on the net. Rumors have been swirling about Mockingbird ever since Iridium's disclosure, and I think clear statements of fact are needed to counter these. To wit:

  • Yes, it is true that Mockingbird was gleaning some information about its observers who used the BIRDWATCHER app. Mockingbird deals in aggregate data sets, and distinguished that observers using BIRDWATCHER had a different value of understanding than typical traffic.
  • Amber Head does in fact exist; she was interviewed by old Top Gear before Mockingbird went online
  • The existence of Grimes is much more murky; some 97% of her existence are in online domains that Mockingbird observes.
  • We've turned off Mockingbird's messaging ability and it has been off for some time; if you are getting cryptic, spooky messages, it's because your friends are dicks.
  • As Tesla and Star Citizen have weirdly dovetailed, some of the existing material generated for one is now useful for the other. In particular, keep an eye out for the seven stages of grief in the scammed.
  • Sassafras Hegemony
  • Access to the internest has been restored.
