 Hey, I remember a similar titled LP. Is this anything like King of Dragon Pass? It's the sequel! Prequel? This first installment of Six Ages takes place somewhat earlier in the timeline, and came out on iOS on June 28 2018. I got permission from David Dunham, the mad genius behind the project, to run this LP so soon as long as I take a little while to get to the more spoilery bits. I don't think that'll be a problem. Sadly other platforms are due in probably-2019. Buying the game using the same link from sixages.com (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/six-ages-ride-like-the-wind/id934012726?ls=1&mt=8&at=10laGk) gives A Sharp a slightly higher cut of the proceeds. What's King of Dragon Pass? Both Six Ages and KoDP are, fundamentally, about keeping a band of bronze age barbarian hicks alive long enough to make your mark on history. You've just arrived in a new location and need to rebuild your relationship with your gods, meet and befriend and/or murder your new neighbors, and most importantly, make your cow count go up. They both consist of a simulation layer interspersed with regular, beautifully illustrated events. MysticMongol and Haifisch both did really excellent LPs of KoDP. Mystic Mongol Haifisch  What's different about the new game that I need to know right now? The most obvious big difference is that you're playing an Orlanthi-adjacent culture, but not the Orlanthi we know and love from King of Dragon Pass - a lot of the gods have different names, shamen play a much larger role and are more appreciated, and Hyalorings are way more into horses than even the Elmal-est Orlanthi. The simulation layer has also undergone some major improvements both in decision-making and user-friendliness, which we'll get into after clan creation. Six Ages is also considerably harder. Please avoid actual game spoilers if feasible. This may have some tricky overlap with Gloranthan mythology, given where we are in the timeline, but there are only a few meaningful gameplay worries regarding lorenerdery. Clan Creation 1: Patron God Your story begins not long after the gods made people. The Golden Age was a time of harmony ruled by the sun god Yelm and his appointees. Your clan traces its ancestry back to those times. Which of the gods did they favor? Emperor Yelm, shining above the Golden Empire. Nyalda, the great Earth Mother, whose bounty made sure no one was ever hungry. Some of the clan creation choices will have substantial effects, some less so. A few may make the game more difficult. As in King of Dragon Pass, you may be expected to behave largely as your ancestors did.

The Storm people worshiped Orlanth the storm god, and said he killed the Bad Emperor. At some point the two meet and decide that they're actually calling the same gods by different names. So is Yelm the Bad Emperor? Yes and no, but mostly yes.
