Motherfucker, YOU are poor. Americans basically think you're only poor if you're, like, living in Section 8 housing and rely on food stamp programs.

I could, in theory, make significantly more going back to construction, but my job now is really interesting and more in line with what I wanna do. Construction was fun, but the idea of basically breaking my body apart over the next 30 years and being unable to play with my kids or grandkids is not cool. but yeah, I get accused of being a lazy entitled millenial who doesn't know what work is all the fuckin time when I advocate for universal health care or a guaranteed basic income or taxing the everloving poo poo out of rich people

We crunched the numbers on just getting courthouse married to get her insurance but if we did my insurance cost goes from 109/pay to something ridiculous like $350 She makes too much to qualify for Medicaid though so she's hosed either way.
