Hey there, speed friend. Do you miss the HIGH-OCTANE RUSH of Games Done Quick marathons? Well, what if I told you you could get those same SPEEDRUNNING THRILLS right now??? "But Pants Donkey!" you cry, "GDQ's next marathon isn't till January!" Well, check this out:  What is it? Well, it's NINE DAYS OF SPEEDRUNNING ACTION brought to you from the other side of the Atlantic. While it's not as big as GDQ, everyone has to start somewhere, so tune in and give it a whirl! It's from the good people at the European Speedrunner Assembly, and it's to raise money for Save the Children, a charity that works to provide kids worldwide basic necessities like food and housing. And ALL donations go DIRECTLY to the charity: every expense is handled out of pocket by organizers and runners. The marathon also differs in that it has TWO streams going on at once, so switch to whatever you like best. And of course, being based in Europe means that several runners who can't make it to GDQs will be present, so plenty of new faces for a lot of you! Similar to GDQ threads, we're going to try two threads this year as well. The other thread is brought to you by speedrun aficionado KennyMan666, and it's a more traditional thread where you just discuss the runs and talk speedrunning. It's over here, at this link. This thread is the chat thread, where the conversation is more casual and relaxed. Talk about a run, post some fanart, and just shoot the breeze with your fellow speed friends. As the thread name implies, the posting environment is very laid-back and cool, where we don't get up each others' asses about video games and simply enjoy nine days of speed friends and posting. Also, the times for the goon runs mentioned in the OP here are from my OP which i showed Pants Donkey before we posted the threads and are in my Swedish UTC+2 time, so someone might want to check what times those are going to be at in some more US-relevant time zone.
