Can't lie, Pure Champion Jonathan Gresham will be good. (Please don't make Jay Lethal the 1st ever 2 time Pure Champion)

This seems like a good idea. Why did they retire it in the first place?

I think the original rules for the belt might've been just too much of a burden and fans were burnt out by the matches. I don't know if the Pure Championship was looked upon fondly at the time due to the rules, but I'm not 100% certain on that. An updated rule set might make it better. Though I'm not sure having 3 singles belts for ROH is the right step forward, but who knows

Even the first half of Nigel's reign is pretty boring.

They used to call it the "Pure Dogshit" title, in the fans' community

It was a nice change of pace from ROH’s sprint style of the era. Guys had to slow down and work smarter matches. But yeah, lotta stinkers. Nigel Danielson in the UK and that’s all I can think of without going back to archives.

Xavier looked to still be in great shape at a recent GCW appearance even though i think it was a non wrestling role Pure title rules should be handled better since a bigger part of their roster seems to be more technical based

Meltzer said in the WON that Adam brooks is going to be heading in. I'll be the first to mock the post-Mania weekend direction of RoH, but they have been making a bunch of great signings. Hopefully it pays off.

coconono posted:Sumie Sakai is a big nope It will never stop being funny to me that one of the few people in modern ROH who was there in 2002 is Sumie Sakai, utterly unforgettable then, now, forever. (The others going from their website's roster page: Colt Cabana, Jay Lethal, Jay & Mark Briscoe. Also Dan Maff but he's not on their roster page. And I'm sure Cabana is done. loving hell ROH. Also Jay Lethal only appeared in a dark match so that probably doesn't count. So basically it's Maff, Briscoes & Sumie Sakai.) Other fun part of their roster page is their Alumni section. Less than 2 pages long, it has Prince Nana & Punishment Martinez & Brandi Rhodes but not Nigel McGuinness, Takeshi Morishima, Low-Ki, Homicide, Austin Aries, Davey Richards, Eddie Edwards, or Adam Cole. Too much buzz to need to fill out their alumni section with former World Champions I guess.
