Seems they've deleted all the old reviews off the NMS Steam store.

Pahaha

That's not shooting yourself in the foot, that's loading up a slug and decimating it.

I mean from the sounds of it, it looks like the better ship loop but with more features.

On the plus side my theory about it being the same loop is mostly correct.

Except the loop is grindier with prettier things to look at.

All i want is to not have to get onto my frigates to repair them.

For fucks sake there is a whole frigate of dudes there surely one of them can press the button.

My god they've definitely hosed up something performance wise. I don't remember it being close to this bad.

Yeah i'm kind of surprised more people aren't just laughing at them for somehow managing the make their game horrendously buggy 3 years after release.

I found a guy who'd just let me get dialog off of him over and over again (it was a korvax who deactivated after the first conversation). I got bored about 50 words in but hey, that's a thing.

Also i kinda like having to work for money. I've set up my base on an extreme radiation planet and it owns going around getting crystals.

So where do I get sodium diodes? I need them for my scanner to find manufacturing facilities but I need to find a manufacturing facility to make one? Ugh.

I've searched 26 systems I can't find a single seller.

Yeah, i've been trying the maps and the ships, its just constant alien artifacts or trading posts, i'll try some more. At the very least the minor settlement suggestion will be able to bear fruit, pretty sure there's one nearby that i forgot to check the components of.

Someone pointed out upthread that there are actually several different kinds of planetary maps and each stations vendor only gives one. The tooltip for the map will tell you what kind it is and they dont stack.

This is almost as dumb as the decision to make me do it one navigation data at a time.

Sad that my base has nothing to mine next to it. There's no way to just pack up the whole thing and move it without replacing literally everything is there? Being able to pull down a base you had previously made would be cool.

I recently found that its not enough to have a roof over your head, you need to make your base claustrophobic so the weather doesn't get you. Nice

I think if you make a building too tall you get weather inside it

You do. Mine broke when i went above two tiles high. Even then, i needed to add walls in, because my floor was something like 15x15, maybe bigger. Inside, you got weather effects. Luckily i'm on an extreme planet with bugged gear, so i never got colder and used the time to experiment. It looks like the game only expects you to build rooms that aren't quite as big, because as soon as i put walls and arches in, I stopped getting the effects.

Also figured out that I need to use a prebuilt room to attach the galactic trade terminal onto a wall, which is kind of annoying. Ah well, got a nice little trade dome outside now. Also using the basement floor as a battery and storage floor, considering i'm running a mining base out of here I can never have too many batteries. Also big rows of battery banks looks really cool.

Bugged gear?

Yeah it's happened twice now, if you use the synergy thing sometimes it just never depletes. You do constantly hear a faint beeping so it's kind of annoying, but I put up with it while trying to fix the other bug because I was on an extreme planet :v:

Once I fixed my base I fixed the gear bug by moving the module to my inventory, then back to my tech slot. Works normally.

how do frigates work exactly? I always see "hireable frigates" that I can highlight with the trackpad but I can't work out how to interact with them

fly close to the ones you can hire and they'll talk to you via starship communicator. You can then have a look at the frigate.

On the plus side you can always just get given some via online play

Space station missions also pay out in nanites sometimes, and if you're out playing the game and scanning things and getting milestones, there are some NPCs on the space anomaly and in your Overseer base who pay out daily.

I still don't know exactly when "daily" is.

The space station missions is how i get them. I pick up the exploration ones for scanning and the killing creatures ones, i'm typically doing that as i explore anyway.

You don't really get rewarded for random digging. It's got resource nodes and you can definitely throw on a podcast and just flit between them (i played while watching netflix, a lot of the time).

Picked this up recently to play co-op mostly and I was wondering if there's a way to minimize some of the base building jank we've seen.

We had two cases yesterday of NMS merging both player's perceptions of a world when someone visited. My friend got away lightly with some indoor woodland but my base, that's been partially cut in to a hill, decided it was Pompei and had to be re-excavated. :stonklol:

Both times we'd teleported in to each other's home system but hadn't gone via the Nexus teleport. Is that what we should have done or is it all just a case of :that'sNMS:?

I don't think you can ever get rid of the jank. I repeatedly get notifications for where my buddy is (apparently in my system) when they're actually in another system.
