I'm pretty interested in the argument that the acts of genocide (cultural genocide is still genocide, svenkatesh, and it was genocide when it was done to Native Americans, too) are exaggerated propaganda, but also acting like the acts of terrorism that are, apparently, so rampantly committed by this ethnic minority that nearly the entire population needs to be de-radicalized is completely and utterly true. Yeah, but... do you really think stuff like that doesn't happen? Oppression of a religious and ethnic minority by criminalizing aspects of the religion while claiming if pressed that religion is just a thing you think so it's not a big deal is pretty common. I also don't really understand your opinion about genocide. You're acting like the only form of genocide is violent pogroms and death camps. That's absolutely a form of genocide and one of the most viscerally horrifying, but genocide also includes wiping out cultures by removing children from parents and raising them in the dominant culture or forced marriages or the criminalization of cultural traditions that aren't harming anyone. And one form of genocide often feeds into and leads to another. Nobody goes from 0 to pogrom without a solid foundation of hatred and dehumanization first. EDIT: I'm also not saying all the reports of human rights violations are 100% true. I don't know, I'm not there, and some things do get exaggerated or misinterpreted.
