It would've been pretty hilarious to see the original Jeff beef it in front of the cops though.

The way they filmed the exterior of the business seemed, to me, to emphasize the way trucks were going in and out in much the same way they used trucks coming and going from Fring's businesses to remind us that smuggling was afoot. Like they had a big close up of a truck leaving zooming out to the workers talking about the dangers of drugs, I reckoned it was meant as a wink at audience. Then when they eating lunch in the last episode they had another truck pulling out unobtrusively in the background, but not too unobtrusively.

I don't really know how a truck pulling out of one place can be evocative of another truck pulling out of another place but my immediate reaction was that was a callback.

It sounds insane when I write it out. Please tell me I'm not insane.

They recast the Jeff character between season 5 and season 6, the old actor seemed really natural as an in-your-face rear end in a top hat and the new actor seems really natural as a weak-willed patsy.

I’m sorry what. This person think they’re using black and white lightbulbs and not just B&W film or something? I doubt it. Enough black and white lightbulbs to illuminate an entire set would cost a fortune and they’re still rarely on the open market.

People have posted that Addams Family set picture a few times in this thread. Kim's hair was similar. It wouldn't photograph right in B&W so they had to paint it green to get the contrast they wanted

Having said all that, there are a few stage productions who use grayscale makeup and props in order to do a live play 'in black & white':

Joke all you want but they use a yttrium cesium tungsten amalgamated filament that creates light waves with “flat” electromagnetic properties. Color isn’t reflected, only edge detail. As film prices keep increasing more and more movie studios are switching to them. Especially the porn industry where all metadata shows that black & white content seems to be preferred.

This is something that I'm actually legitimately interested in, whether there's something we missed in the background of the background of Kim's purgatory hellscape. Some other Breaking Bad happening in her new town that we're/she's just not ever gonna be a part of. Maybe to show that when you aren't a part OF that world, it is there but invisible to you. The conversation about the normal folks misunderstanding the drug culture almost felt like a clue.

I read the guy's other post on the subject and his example was pretty bad but this show is no stranger to putting unimportant stuff in the background of otherwise totally static shots to emphasize the world surrounding it, I mean look at the big ol statue of liberty thing that got hardly any explanation for its presence besides the metaphorical reason. Just saying I wouldn't be surprised if 6 months down the line we see a video titled "THE METH TRADE HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT OUTSIDE ABQ -- Kim's Florida Life Analyzed Scene By Scene" or something
