I forgot about this thread entirely. Here's an Iskiereka update:  She has been deliriously happy. After a rough start with our new kitten, Arahbo, they are now best friends and spend at least 2 hours a day chasing and wrestling each other.

 Took roughly three months, but these two finally will sleep all cuddled up, rather than just tolerating each other's presence fairly close.
