Doc review is super boring, no stress, and decently lucrative. It’s pretty great.

Lol never heard anyone describe doc review as lucrative.

It’s $27 an hr here if you can get in at the good doc review mill. Some ads are for as low as $15 an hr. Either way it’s feast or famine with no benefits.

Pittsburgh has a ridiculously low cost of living, my live-in ex-wife makes good money, I sold my house, and even with one week off out of every 4 I’m making more than my PD colleagues with 5-6 years experience. My company is $26 unlicensed, $32 licensed with no OT limit.

Update to my ethical issue.

I told my immediate supervisor, who also supervises NA. He was irate. Not at someone leaving, but at NA keeping it a secret. Turns out we have an agency policy that requires you to disclose if you're interviewing outside the agency for private practice. You know, to prevent conflicts?

Anyway, it's now being passed up the ladder. And I'm absolved of any further responsibilities. There's a good chance NA will be let go today. He'll probably be pissed off but that's how it goes. If he had told admin, they may have been more amenable.

IANAL but this seems like a good call

OK, another question related to my earlier one. Do any of you deal with case or document management systems at work, what do you use, and what should people looking into that software area know?

I’ve used CLIO and LegalEdge. CLIO is dope but LegalEdge made me want to slit my wrists. Same for OnBase.

Tell me more, please. What context, and what made things dope or miserable?

I used CLIO for the two years I did clinic. It was awesome for document automation, keeping client files organized, being able to work from anywhere, and a really easy interface. The downside is that it’s a little expensive.

LegalEdge was designed to work on WindowsXP, has terrible functionality, and I think is only used by PD offices because it’s cheap. Same with OnBase.

But did you go to Turtle Sushi?

I don’t think that was there when I was there. I usually hung out at Torimasa, My Place, and the legendary Forevers when I was there July 2002 - May 2005. One night I was out at the Wood Company listening to Japanese dudes jam out and stop playing a second before I turned to my buddy and said “That chick is hot” in reference to our ENS watch officer. The guy she was there with, a Lt. jg on another shift gave me the dirtiest look.

No, it was a building that housed Conservative and Reconstructionist sects. Lots of overlap with friends and such. Two special needs brothers who are involved with the same group as my daughter were also murdered as well as a 97 year old holocaust survivor. When I served on my temple board, we discussed about having our doors locked during services, but realized that that barrier is entirely antithetical to progressive Reform Judaism, but now I can foresee it happening and it’s loving awful.
