Is there no UI element somewhere that lets me battle top performers online? I can only fight people on my friend list it seems. I joined the Goontronics Steam group but I don't see anyone other than my actual friends on the leaderboards and histograms.
You can turn on the top percentile in the Options if you wanna compare yourself against that.

This fake IRC chat is killing it. EMBER less so. What does it say if fake IRC and Shenzhen email speak to me on a deep level. Other bits of Zachtronics narrative... doesn't.

TIS-100 was good until the twist ending.
Yeah Zach's overarching plots never really grabbed me, they're all "and then something dystopian happens", but I love all the flavor in the IRC chats, Shenzhen emails, Opus Mangum conversations, etc.

New Exapunks update with an important bugfix:

quote:

Fixed a bug where you could use M in global mode to communicate across non-existent links, like in the "modem" puzzles. This will invalidate some players' solutions to these puzzles, so the completion flags, leaderboards, and histograms for them have been reset.
Better go check if your solutions still work, specially if you want back in the leaderboard.

Would be nice if you could automatically run your solution against every opponent.

Is there any requirement for "leave no trace" other than having your exas terminate and not modifying files or leaving new files outside your host?

I started playing through this and I got to the "Xtreme League Baseball" level and I am producing the correct output file (since the box for "create the specified file in your host" is checked), all my exas terminate, and I haven't written to any other files, but for some reason it doesn't think that I have left no trace.
Are you accidentally moving host files? If you hold "show goal" you should be able to compare with your outcome.

Every Zach fan should probably check this out: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1098840/ZACHLIKE/

It's a compilation of his design documents, prototypes and early Flash games. And it's free!

  • CHEAT AT CARDS - In a move that should surprise no one, MOLEK-SYNTEZ contains an original Zachtronics solitaire game. When you get stuck, cheat and place your cards wherever you want. Just don't do it so much that you get in over your head...
