Any good suvs/crossovers/minivans in the pipe that are PHEV or full EV? Probably not much full EV with the size/weight. Got a bunch of kids and dogs and everything is too small so far. Really hoping Kia does a PHEV minivan or suv as I have a 16 Sorento and it is fantastic.

I meant to ask earlier when someone mentioned the 12v, so do EVs usually have a regular lead acid battery as well as whatever fancy lithium batteries? I had assumed all electrical would just be based off those. Volt is mixed with ICE too but tesla roadster is all battery right? Sorry EV noob.

Good info, thanks! I guess it also makes sense that most car electronics run off 12V DC so having one of those batteries just makes it simpler. Also wrt Kia, they have come a long way baby. If they came out with something bigger than the Optima/Soul in PHEV I would be very keen. Sorento/Telluride or even the Sedona I would be all over that. I've had a Kia for about 4 years now and the car runs fantastic, is super solid and the service at the dealership is top notch. Plus the value for the dollar was outstanding.

I haven't driven an EV but with instant torque wouldn't it be a concern that older drivers would be plowing their cars into the front of strip malls? Like even more often. Seems like a software setting could control that though, as mentioned.

I’m just surprised Nissan hasn’t made a compact crossover EV yet seeing how they seem to crank out so many drat ICE crossover variants. Rogue, Qashqai, Juke, Kicks, Murano, how did they not mash one up with the Leaf yet??

I'm hoping for a larger affordable EV soon, with small kids (loving carseats!) and dogs the current crop is just a bit too small. Minivan or 7 seater crossover would be ideal. Chrysler Pacifica is pretty much it right now.

I saw a Bolt in the bright greeny yellow colour the other day and I would be all in. A good red, bright green, yellow or the "Tangerine scream" colour on the Focus RS would be my top colour choices for any vehicle.

I have a 3 row Kia Sorento and it is definitely more foot space in the back row than that photo. The one thing that sucks is only one side 2nd row goes forward to let people in the 3rd. I just put my 7 year old back there with the other side folded down and he goes in through the rear hatch. Car seats in the 2nd row etc.

Yeah I want an EV that size. People were saying the outlander and cx-9 third row sucks and it’s in the similar size range though.
