    GM clarification note for everyone:
  • Stuff your race is doing can have their natural ability used in each situation they find themselves in.
      • However, keep in mind that the more you have them doing: The harder its going to be. (outside of conversation, social stuff and the like.)
  • Your gods though I'm limiting to using your abilities to a single scene, situation, or act.
Just try not to over do it or spread yourselves too thin.

Bas - Temple Construction Site, Odan, Kinun

After hearing the reports from the southern delegation as gathered by his priests, the wheels began to turn in Bas’ mind. He supposed he shouldn’t be surprised at the general weakness of his southern neighbor. Any land that let beasts such as the ones that had initially come over his border when Kinuin had appeared in this world would be weak and disorderly. However, this presented an opportunity. He passed word to the priests to bring the delegation before him once more. Once they had been escorted back he let his divine power burn, promising safety and prosperity for them and their countrymen if only they would submit to him and accept him as their lord and god.

Once that was complete, and the converts had been handed off to the priest’s for indoctrination, he summoned the highest ranks of his church.

“Kinuin has been deposited into a new world by forces unknown. To the south lays a land ripe for conversion, where the people live in fear of bandits and where monsters run free. I have called you here because soon it will be time to begin the great work the faithful have been preparing themselves for. Soon, I will declare a crusade to convert the southern lands, and I task you with overseeing all necessary preparations.”

Bas converts the delegation with Persuasion[+2] and orders the Leonin to begin to prepare to invade Und, Crusaders[+2].

Arduk - Phoben Mesa, Tumlan Badlands [BP: 1/3]
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UoXIjE6EfI0

The head of the creature swiveled to look directly at Arduk and the creature laughed as it decapitated another man without looking. As Arduk joined the fray the Wokilar made a minor error, the man taking off three of the beast's fingers on its right hand. It could no longer hold its second blade, but a backhanded claw strike took off the front part of the man's skull. He died in a gurgling scream. The battle experienced a lull as the beast breathed heavily. The dwindling mortal followers keeping their distance as they waited for an opening. The Wokilar cocked its head to the side, as if listening to something only it could hear. Then its maw opened in a sly smile and it laughed darkly.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dyJWphS6L4U

The creature pointed at Arduk with its sword and not in any language that could be understood by the men demanded that Arduk face him.

Arduk could understand it very well. Too well. An ancient challenge.

It worked and the Wokilar loses the use of its right sword hand. The thing is now challenging Arduk. Directly.

Mugwort - Bug's Bottom

Word reaches Mugwort of a ball being held in Und. Many frogs in Bug's Bottom had gotten invitations. One has found its way to you.

Eureka, the toad governor opened its clockwork eyes and croaked very much like Mugwort. "Work work work." It sighed unhappily. Eureka began his tasks of organizing the toads....

Eureka the toad governor is created. Maybe he can give them an education program or other tasks? Make sure cover in your post Und, Hesperantia, and epicurius.

Eleazzar the Craftsman - Workshop Aleph, The Spire, Hesperantia

Word reached Eleazzar of a ball being held in Und. Many people in Hesperantia had gotten invitations. One had found its way to his aides.

The gifted teams all sniffed at the snub of their ideas. They were only working within the limitations of their knowledge and resources available. Work on the projects would be slow and potentially sabotaged through peer review. The next meeting only two ideas were presented and the originals scrapped because nothing beyond the original designs worked or the arguments were so harsh that members left the teams. The reconfigured teams brought two new technologies for Eleazzar's notice:
      • Mana Shields

    • [small]: Made for personnel, these would be carried by each shoulder. They would have a charge for 30 minutes and deflect any and all projectiles. defense [+2], single use per scene
    • [medium]: These could be affixed to vehicles of some kind, they could deflect most heavy damage and get troops where they needed to go (one rush), one use per battle, before requiring a recharge.
    • [large]: These would need to be chained in parallel into the power grid, they can take the greatest amount of damage before overwhelming failure. Defense [+2] for entire battle, Draining [-2] - Chance increase as battle progresses for power grid overtaxing. Shields once lost can only be used next battle.
      • Destruction Blade

    • [small] Given to warriors, these blades cut through nearly anything by breaking matter down on a cellular and molecular level. offense [+2], single use per scene, completely lethal no prisoners
    • [medium] A spiral pattern of blades in a vortex of destruction, they are mounted on vehicles and mow down the front lines until they run out of power. Offense [+2] (one rush), one use per battle, before requiring a recharge.
    • [large] - All attempts at making a vortex cannon has consumed the test towers - Use at own risk. A massive amount of damage. Destruction [+4] at the cost of destroying the target and the building that houses the cannon. These would need to be integrated into the grid to get enough power. But what an impressive amount of destruction.

You get one tech able to be produced reliably at a one: small, medium, large implementation category. You get one. Going for all types of implementation will either see shortages to each, or an inherent flaw. You can always retry for more techs, however. To build something specific against Leonin, you need to do testing on livening specimens. The instabilities of the designs and drawbacks are partially due to resources and initially Eleazzar thought maybe those assigned not brilliant enough. However he begins to suspect something not quite right with the mana of this world or another reason.

Aramaul & Children, Beneath Castle Unddaul, Northern Und

      • Thraues howls in pleasure. The manwolf ready to go and test his mettle in battle once more. "The a pack will fight and do as you will my lord!" The beasts traveled north and soon were crossing into (Kiniun). It wasn't long until they came upon a small camp of Lionheaded men. The ambush was soon set and then :siren: battle!. The wolfmen have encountered a scouting patrol. They will be using Hunting [+2] as previously stated. You can influence tactics and strategy or roleplay Thraues if he wants to demand the Leonin surrender. There are about a dozen or so Leonin at the camp.
      • The childe Barathrea, bows. "As you wish, father." She trembled at the thought of feeding and new blood. She entered the land and found a disused basement in one of the structures that didn't quite make the transition to the new world. She began scouting for potential recruits but it had taken long to get where she was and would need to rest and feed before venturing forth and accomplishing the mission. (Partially complete)
      • Drachis saluted and ventured forth. However he and his "band of heroes" returned just as quickly. They made their report of a wall of black and utter darkness that conjured visions of ancient horrors, madness, and visions of death. The men were all terrified and several of the horses had to be killed. "That land is cursed!"
      • The Rat King left and began mapping the swamps as well as installing itself into the ecosystem. The swamps were a natural home for the creatures, but whenever Aramaul checked in on them they had nothing of interest to report. Only that the creatures constructed things without rhyme or reason or were completely lazy. How they ever got anything done was a mystery...
      • Gartoull saw that Drachis and Thraues were well equipped. Then met Amaraul with his two best alchemists. They worked night and day until finally they were able to create something new from something old. It seemed that something in the environment could be distilled from anything and crystalized into a dark shiny gem. When pressed to the forehead it vanished in a puff of smoke and the test users convulsed and seemed almost like they had died. They came back gasping. The adrenaline and euphoria of the potential near death experience caused the users to give it the name "Afterlife". It was addictive, with more required to maintain the high. Also the more one took, the longer the "trip" and the better the euphoric feeling when they returned. The black gems glinted. They could be made from anything so long as they could be suspended in a fluid, the fluid evaporated and then the residue subjected to a chemical filtering process.
      • Tiny magical messenger bats were sent with invitations to the fall gala / Und's ball. Quite a few foreigners replied.

You have created the drug "Afterlife" its effects on users is as described. However mechanically its actual affect is Unknown [+2]. You can investigate it or just push it through dealers and make that sweet loot.

They had stopped their old foe in the old world. "To arms! He yelled! For BAS! For freedom!" His eyes took on a manic zeal as he drew his blades. Even though this was a scouting force he and his Leonin would NOT be slaves again. :siren: battle!. Use any of their abilities to fight that you wish. You can influence tactics and strategy or roleplay Thank if he wants to demand the enemy's surrender. There are about a dozen or so Leonin at the camp and an unknown number of the enemy.

Like children toying with something they did not quite understand, the mages of Kravos created something terrible and powerful.

The finest minds the schools of the titans had produced all were consumed in the magical conflagration that soon affected not only Kravos, but the world. Magic began flowing inward and then...the moon was held stationary above Kravos. The oceans calmed, the winds soon ceased across the lands. The water soon to be stagnant. The anchors soon began absorbing mana at an alarming rate, the flows reversing that Garret had seen, and soon none could grasp any flows. No magic could escape and all magic flowed into the anchors.

Congrats! You have broken a fundamental part of the game! Effects to be announced below!

Priest-Captain Thane - Border with Und, Kinun

The appearance of a Lupus force caught Priest-Captain Thane and his troops by total surprise, but once they realized what was happening the mood changed. The sight of their ancient enemies awakened a bone-deep hatred in the Leonin. Thane ordered the two fastet members of his detachment and ordered them to head to Odan as fast as they could to inform them of the appearance of the Lupus. The rest of his troops would attack the enemy with all the ferocity faith and hatred could generate. No quarter would be given to any Lupus, and there was not a Leonin alive that would not prefer death over capture by this particular foe. If it came to it, he wouldn't hesitate for a second to end the life of one of his subordinates to prevent their capture, and he had no doubt they would extend him the same courtesy. There were even tales from the later stages of the occupation of Leonin who bit off their own tongues and drowned themselves in the resulting blood rather than be captured, and he had no doubt that any one of his troops would do the same thing without a second thought if forced to. They would either repulse the attackers or hold them off long enough for the runners to escape cleanly, when all was said and done either all of the Lupus would be dead or the Leonin would.

Priest-Captain Thane and his troops are drawing on their military skills and fanatical zeal due to their status as Crusaders[+2] of Bas. They'll send a pair of runners back to the capital, but the rest will charge the enemy either to repulse them completely or to hold them off long enough for the runners to escape depending on the size of the enemy detachment. Regardless, no Leonin will allow themselves to be captured alive, as thanks to thinking that the wolf-men are their hated occupiers they'd find a way to kill themselves even if restrained assuming they can be taken alive at all.

---

Bas - Temple Construction Site, Odan, Kinun

There was a sudden change in the very nature of the world, and Bas burned in fury as someone stripped his priests of their divine grants. No longer could his priests grant strength to his followers, nor sooth their minds of doubt. Who would dare cause such a violation!? He cast out his senses attempting to locate the party responsible for this, swearing bloody vengeance on any who would trespass on his sacred bond with his followers.

Bas is using his Strength[+2] to produce divine magic in hopes of seeing where it is disappearing to. However, his rage from both his Vainglorious[-2] nature and his Devotion to his Followers[-2] means he's gonna massively massively overreact when he figures out who's responsible. Think declaration of holy war level overreaction.

Al-Shurrah - On the war march

Al-Shurrah was disturbed from his governance by the sensation of something going terribly wrong. At the same time lights went out, train cars stopped, and the air ship that was conducting trade crashed killing some but not all of its crew. The vessel could be repaired, but its engine and every other in Onshixti would not stir. Dragons cried out in pain, and a number of strange creatures were rendered blind as their magical sight was stolen from them. Of all the magical things in Onshixti, intelligent magical constructs were not among them, for there were enough creatures strange and powerful enough to fill the niche that human wizards needed constructs for.

"Someone has done something terrible, and foolish." Al-Shurrah said standing up to the surprise of those around him. Windows were being quickly opened to allow more light and air into the rooms of the palace. "Stay here, manage the people as best you can. I will deal with this." The god king said and went to his chambers. There he swiftly retrieved his divine arms and armour, then left the palace. The people gasped as they saw him run past through the city, as they tried to handle the sudden loss of an integral part of their city and lives.

Al-Shurrah ran to the east, and swiftly passed the border to Hesperantia. Although he had not met Eleazzar, he was sure he would be able to find him.

SWORD OF SMATTAS. CAN YOU NOT HEAR A WORLD CRY OUT FOR JUSTICE? WHEN WILL YOU DELIVER IT?
Yam Slacker
Eleazzar the Craftsman - Pretty Much Everywhere, Hesperantia
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R49IKBWznOM&t=20s

Vortex Cannons got the go-ahead, but after the mana severance, there were several higher priorities, not to mention the need to iterate with disposable prefabricated automated structures and other innovations to maximise potential impact and minimise Hesperantian casualties. Right now, however, the entire cityscape was in crisis mode.

Hesperantia, the vast, continent-spanning city of hope and wonder, was secure and stable upon three pillars: Magic, Technology, and Artifice that combined them both. Right now, it was tottering precariously on one-and-a-half. Lighter-than-air craft that relied upon purely scientific means such as the stellar observation airships on the eastern border were able to descend relatively safely. Heavier-than-air transports, laden with construction materials, came down hard, even with emergency parachutes deployed. The airfields and mooring towers of Newport were a disaster zone, and the crackling spires of Leyhold fell dark. Arcane lights winked out, leaving only flickering fires and electrical illumination.

But after the initial shock, even as panic threatened to creep in, the stabilisation response started. Technology functioned, the laws of physics and chemistry could still be relied upon. There were no floating districts or impossible buildings to come crashing down as the magic-reliant portion of the fliers had, because the architectural aesthetic of Hesperantia was very much based on a firm foundation and ubiquitous flying buttresses. Eleazzar became aware of the magnitude of the disaster as it happened: A former servant of his reality's Goddess of Magic, it was integral to him, its absence hollow and aching. Straight away, he started manifesting at the points of greatest need, preventing panic, setting in motion what needed to be done, rescuing pilots and unfortunates on the rapidly overshadowed ground, and organising Hesperantians into working towards getting things running once again.

Eleazzar the Craftsman - Office of Archmage-Provost Djunhiz Kelsorr, Leyhold, Hesperantia

Eleazzar manifested in the office of the greatest magic user in Leyhold, not that there was magic to use. He immediately began answering the questions that were about to be asked.

"Yes, me coming in here like this is strictly necessary. The phenomenon appears to be continent-wide, Leyhold and Hesperantia in general are currently devoid of magic. I've got others working on short-term issues, you and your staff need to identify exactly what happened, how best to reverse it, and if it can't be reversed, start working on Mana Turbines to generate some fresh energy not tied to the ley network. Everyone currently devoid of their powers is on this task, I have complete confidence in your abilities. Good luck, you have my blessing, I'm with you and your team, pray if need be."

With that, he demanifested.

Eleazzar the Craftsman - Gantry overlooking production lines 5, 6 and 8, Manufactorium Prime, Ironstrike, Hesperantia

Elias manifested alongside Kyvarn Batsen, the principal production coordinator for Manufactorium Prime and its associated manufactoriae.

"Yes, I know exactly who you are, and this isn't an outrage, and yes, I'm me. Shut down all part-magical production, all lines, all factories, immediately. You, supervisor Coln, run, spread the word, especially to line seventeen, quick as you can. Kyvarn, here is your absolute number one priority list for emergency production. Magic has currently ceased to function, I'll need the new food-safe land trains in Greenchapels as fast as you can manage. No-one starves in Hesperantia, and the massive disruption to half our internal resource distribution network isn't going to change that. The generators, electric lights and heaters are next on the priority list, every home which relied on magic for heat and light is going to need a set. I'm counting on you, Kyvarn, don't let my people shiver in darkness. You have my blessing, I'm with you and your team, pray if need be."

With that, he demanifested.

Eleazzar the Craftsman - Beside a large crater in a mostly empty, construction material rubble-strewn street, three quarters of the way between Newport and the current tower construction site with pilot Derris Duquesne, Hesperantia

"It's all right, you can stop screaming now. I've got you. You're safe. It wasn't your fault, all magic has ceased to function, there was nothing else you could have done. I'm really, really proud of how well you chose the, let's say landing site: no-one got hurt. Walk that way up along the road, at the second junction head into the building and ask for community warden Oshken, he'll get you sorted and send out a salvage crew. I've got to go now, but I'm still with you, and I will hear your prayers. You're going to be okay."

With that, he demanifested.

Eleazzar the Craftsman - Dozens, hundreds of manifestations later, near the main road from the Onshixti capital to Ironstrike, Hesperantia

"Al-Shurrah! God-King of Onshixti! Hail, would that the circumstances were better. Welcome to my realm. I can probably guess the main topic of the day. It wasn't us, we're working on the questions of whom, what and why, and if we can't reverse it, we'll be working on spinning up some mana turbines to alleviate matters if we can. At the moment Hesperantia is tending to its own needs: Once we're back on our own feet we'll hopefully be in a position to offer what aid we can, if there's anything truly urgent then I'll see what I can arrange."

He paused, and took an unnecessary but punctuating breath.

"In any case, you have my attention. What would you have of me?"

All hands on deck to stabilise Hesperantia, keep everyone fed, warm and lit, save as many lives as possible. Dedicating Genius +2 and trusting to the Brilliance of the Gifted +2 to do so. Also tapping into the Brilliance of the Gifted +2 to get to the bottom of the cause, try to come up with solutions and if the flow of mana can't be restarted, devising some Mana Turbines to try and generate an independent source. Opening dialogue with Al-Shurrah. Vortex Cannons get the nod, but non-essential projects are paused and they will likely need a lot of tweaking before Eleazzar will approve their deployment,

Spare batteries are pretty key.
Thraues - Battle with the Leonin

Eager to please his maker, the master of hounds signalled the attack. He felt that they had sniffed out a suitably weak patrol, and set his manwolves into three groups to surround their camp. As the panicked Leonin reacted to his opening howl, his followers loosed a volley of crossbow bolts over his shoulder. Tipped with barbs, they would be near impossible for the huge warriors to ignore, or tear out. He drew his sword and the mutants at his sides took up their weapons as well.

The enemy captain shouted his orders, and the leonin advanced as best they could toward Thraues's position except for two who were obviously messengers. The cruel vampire was used to leaving no survivors, but for now was not over-worried: his nose told him that no reinforcements were within hours. Before the leonin got too close, he howled again, modulating the sound to carry his next orders. The second group of his pets answered the call, and loosed more bolts into the enemy rear, then all three groups of manwolves charged together, some armed with swords or axes, others with nets or clubs .

Thraues himself, though he wielded a finely-made broadsword, barely used it. The weapon that would please his master most was his gaze. As soon as he locked swords with one of the enemy soldiers he struck them with his hypnotizing gaze. He had seen what happened to Drachis when the pretty man had returned from his mission in less than a week, and had no desire to face even half of that punishment. A single Leonin would suffice, if he could just keep it subdued until Aramaul could take control of it. Though, he would probably have time to seek out a mere herdsman if no soldiers survived.

Ghouls are ~good~ at ambushes. Also Thraues is a vampire, so he's got that going for him. He'll stick to the mission, even if it takes him a while.

Al-Shurrah - On the war march

Al-Shurrah quickly dismissed Eleazzar's concern that he had come to Hesperantia because of what had happened. "Nay, We know that you had no part in it. The locus of mana is too far to the east for it to lie within your Demesne. Whichever fool has done this has placed us all in terrible danger. We have been dragged into a Kali Yuga fit for gods, and stand upon a mountain of divine corpses. Whatever agent has brought us here is something to us, as we are to mortals."

There was a brief explanation of the source of the corruption in mana in this world, and Al-Shurrah mentioned he was working on a longterm solution to process the pollution left by the refining process but had yet to find an acceptable result.

"We mean to take our sword arm and put a swift end to whatever foolish machination has been crafted, and to speak stern words with its architect. You may join Us if you wish, for We would believe that this danger affects you as it does all current inhabitants in this place."

He indicated the negative with a shake of his head.

"My duty is to my people. There is much still to be done here, and none save I that can set it in motion properly. Thank you for your information, I'm more than happy to assist in cleansing once we have resolved the present issue. Our border with Kinun is closed on their side, but we can hasten your passage to the sea or to the border with Und to get you to your objective faster than running the width of Hesperantia. Garret Boffen, Meeting Hall, Upper Kravos, Kravos Land 1/3 BP

They hear the rioting from all the way up here, faintly through the heavy stone walls and the large wooden door. The people are out in the streets angry, with the city guard barely keeping order. Kravos has fallen silent for the first time ever, the flow of magic that had powered and sustained it gone dark. Food shortages were expected to start soon in Upper Kravos, the magical lifts having stopped working and the only means up and down a set of winches leading to the lower lands.

Inside the meeting hall loud shouting could be heard. Recriminations and accusations flew freely and fast. Many of the mages of Kravos killed in the backlash of their creation. The worlds magic drained and stuck where no one could reach it. All the magic of Kravos ceasing to function. Blame was assigned and reassigned at a rate that was hard to keep up with.

They'd in one stroke crippled the city, destroyed their guard force of golems, and made themselves a target for every power active in the world. That those powers were suffering just as well was inconsequential when they lacked the means to defend themselves effectively.

Finally Fire says the first smart think he's said all night. "We have to destroy the anchors. Its the only way." More arguing and hashing out of details, with Garret vehemently refusing to destroy the Moon anchor, and they came to compromise. The Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water anchors would be destroyed, freeing the mana and stopping the drain they imposed on the world. Meanwhile Garret would weaken the Moon anchor so its mana could be tapped, recharging the mana of Kravos every night.

Traders of Wonder[+2] and Thievery[+2] to work towards undoing the anchors. Garret doesn't want to fully give up on the mana, since hes harboring dreams of somehow using it to return home, so he works towards weakening the Moon anchor so it can be tapped and used, using Moon[+2] and a BP for another +2. Hes also trying to get it moving again like normal.

Arduk - Phoben Mesa, Tumlan Badlands [BP: 0/3] ~Update 5~
An ancient call.
A terrible response.

Commanders of the Third Company, The Barracks, Arduk’s Stand, Tumlan Badlands
Set into the rockface overlooking the site of that fated battle, the entrance to The Barracks is well hidden and relatively unassuming. Only wide enough for a single wagon, the opening is a natural formation and only reveals itself to be a gate if the massive and ancient steel portcullis is dropped into place. After descending into the depths for a few hundred meters, the path opens in a massive cavern filled with bolt holes, elevated firing positions in the walls, hidden pits, and all other manners of defensive fortifications. Beyond these is a massive wall hewn out of the native sandstone and behind that, what can only be described as a veritable citadel. This is the somewhat understatedly named Barracks that Arduk and the Grim Salient called home. It has been delved, built, and improved for over a thousand years for… something. Arduk has remained silent about what terrible vision inspired its creation.

Within the Barracks, standing around a large circular slab of rock capped with a sheet of iron, are six figures. Two are pushing small figures set on lodestone bases around a map set on the table, three are conversion amongst themselves, and the last is fretting over a pile of parchment. After some time, the sixth figure speaks-

“Having reviewed the inventories, I am inclined to agree with Quartermaster Zelke. We need to begin looking for outside resources to supplement the civilian foodstock. There’s barely enough to last another year or so, assuming there will be no further crises. Which seems pretty unlikely, all things told.” Mummers of agreement around the table. “Since the Captain is busy personally dealing with that damned Wokilar thing, that leaves it to us.”

“That’s all well and good, Lieutenant Major, but what’s your opinion on the best means to do that? We’ve got no intel on the surrounding lands, only hints of some monstrous creatures to the southwest and a few ships spotted sailing east across the northern shorelines.”

“I’ve put some thought into that, Nala, and these are my orders. We take two platoons- yours and Zelke's- and push out northwest along the coastline. Let’s find out where those ships are coming from. Take some of the payroll with you and see if you can acquire preserved foodstuffs, things that’ll last a while. Whoever’s out there may not speak our language or recognize our coinage, but gold is gold.”

“Careful with the payroll, Toland- it’s not like we have much to go around” interrupted Farro from across the table.

“I’m not worried about that, Farro. The Revolutionary Government owes us what, twelve hundred years of backpay?” Chuckles all around the table from that one.

“On a more serious note though, the Captain has repeatedly impressed the importance of secrecy on us. That means full civilian garb- boots, robes, gloves, masks and headscarves. You can take horses with you but not within eyesight of any natives. And no revealing where you’re from. Just make the purchase and bring it back. Obviously, you’ll be scouting the land as you go so we can fill out more of the map. Lethal force only when necessary to avoid capture. Any questions?”
Nobody answered, and the meeting was adjourned.

Arduk accepts the challenge. Now that the enemy is weakened and seemingly determined to fight to the end, the tactics shift. Where once Arduk weaved a subtle net of false security, now he is Fear [+2] incarnate. Their divine Resolution [+2] flows through them- the end is not yet come, and their sacred oaths remain.

Meanwhile, the platoon leaders of the Grim Salient have gathered to discuss a plan of action around gathering more supplies for the mortal civilians. Lieutenants Nala and Zelke take their troops (around 150 Revenants between them) and push out to the northwest along the coastline, hoping to find farmland or fishing villages they can barter with for food. They don’t need to worry about overheating or exertion so they’re all totally covered up to hide their unsettling appearance. It’s harder to hide the horses though so those stay out of sight and will mostly be used for long range scouting and the hauling of any actual goods procured. No combat unless they are exposed to someone attempts to capture them. Revenants [+2] are able to cross large distances quickly and quietly, and have no need for supplies or rest. Also applicable if combat occurs.

Quarter of the Stranger, City of Hut-waret, Kingdom of Mrad

It was perhaps to be predicted that the rioting would start in Hut-Waret. After all, wasn't that the city closest to the sea, so that the people for themselves could see that the tides had stopped and the ocean wind no longer blew. Wasn't that the city that had suffered most from the coming of the mists, being dependant on commerce with a world that no longest existed? And wasn't that the city with the most foreigners, who everybody knew were the cause of all of Mrad's problems? So when some drunken, unemployed dockworkers decided to solve the problem of the curse by teaching some of those damned foreigners a lesson, and when those drat foreigners had friends who wanted to teach the dockworkers a lesson, it wasn't long before fists turned to blades, and torches were lit. Yes, Hut-Waret was the first city to riot in Mrad. It would not be the last.

Per-Dyet, Lord of the Two Lands,-Palace of the King, City of Waset, Kingdom of Mrad

There was shouting. That's what Per-Dyet remembered most about that day. In a court where there was never shouting, there was shouting. Ladies wept, servants and slaves ran out of the way to avoid being blamed, and courtiers, bedecked in silk and linen, were screaming at each other like dealers in a cattle market. Hapnepher, the Chief of Priests and Lord Nefatr, the commander of the city's garrisons, both were shouting at him, trying to make themselves heard over the din and each other. It was almost as bad as the time the mists came. "Enough", he shouted, which might have done a little to calm the chaos, or maybe a little to make it worse, but he wasn't being listened to by most of the crowd, so probably neither. Still, if he couldn't control anyone else, he could at least control he pointed at Nefatr. "You first".

"Thank you, oh Greatness. The city is quiet for now. There were disturbances in the Court of the Potters, but all the looters are dead or scattered, and I've doubled patrols. Things are quiet for now."

"For now!", Hapnepher interrupted. "But for how much longer?"

"For now." was all the Chief of the Guards could commit to.

"Radiant Sun on the Earth, You must beseech your Divine Father to show us mercy", Hapnepher begged. "Whatever we did to make him take the wind and the tides, and halt the moon, we repent from it! You must make Your divine ancestor know this, or Mrad will perish."

Per-Dyet put his head in his hands. His reign had started off so well. He had subdued the rebellious Medjet to the north and made them submit. He had executed some of his father's more unpopular officials. Oh, there were problems...that coup attempt, and the "victory" against the western nomads that left the army limping home in disgrace, but in general, things had gone well. The Kingdom had been at peace. He had built up Hut-waret, and trade, which had so long been stagnated, was starting to grow again. They had discovered silver in the Aluk hills, and those mines were beginning to be exploited. And then the mists, and nothing else had been going right. "First, Nefatr, what news of the rest of the Kingdom? Do we have any new reports?

"Fragmentary, for now, but apparently the rioting in Hut-waret has been contained. We're still waiting for news from Abdju, but your Majesty's uncle, the Voice of the Bee, in his last message said things were under control. And a report from the border said that around the time this started, some frog monsters burst from the swamps seeking to invade in the midst of the chaos, but General Khemri reports he slaughtered them to the last beast. We should know more in a few weeks.

Per-Dyet nodded. Things weren't going well, but at least they werent worse. He claps his hands loudly, and waits for the chaos to die down. The clapping does it, along with some royal guards who silence some of the loudest. "Let it be decreed," he decrees."That We are declaring a time of fasting and extrordinary sacrifice until such time that the curse on the land is lifted. May the gods show mercy on Mrad."

Mrad is engaging in an orgy of fasting, mortification, and animal sacrifices to the gods to beg for a lifting of the curse. It's also trying to hold itself together.

Mugwort – Bug’s Bottom

Mugwort’s eyes flick to the mummy-like being in his viscinity. “Hmm,” he ponders slowly, “welcome to the royal court!” He bows in a froglike fashion and gestures to the swamps around him, croaking echoing out into the much from hidden rest spots. “Apologies,” Mugwort mutters, looking at the sky. “Odd, the moon has stopped.”

Mugwort closes his eyes, thinking about how fun it is to sleep on a moonlit night deep in the swamps, mosquitos buzzing around..and he drifts lazily to sleep as the murky water bubbles around him, and a great arm begins to take shape.

Making a gigantic arm and hand out of swamproots and muck as well as bits and bobs and pieces of pipes and pulleys, a few drowned cars and a big pile of nails and screws, to stick way up into the sky to help push the moon from its current dormant position. I know that there’s several people who are trying to do things to the moon currently, so apply the bonuses as aids to their roll if it would be entertaining pretty please. Also he fell asleep, so invoking Lazy. Swamp +2 Mechanics +2 Lazy -2.

Ab-Heru, with Mugwort, Bugs Bottom

Ab-Heru looks at Mugwort, unblinking, and his features get more animalistic. "I'm sorry. You're a horrible and disgusting creature, and yet you have the scent of the divine in you....mixed up with the scents of rotting vegetation, swamp gas, carrion, dung, urine, and some scents that even I don't know. I find you both fascinating and disturbing beyond measure, and I'd like to get to know who or what you and your creatures are, but as you've said, the moon has just stopped. While I don't mean to criticize your "give it a push" plan, it seems like direct action isn't what we need here. I'm going to head to the place that seemed to have caused that and try to find out exactly what happened. So, unless you'd like to join me...."

Aramaul - The Workshops, Beneath Castle Unddaul, Northern Und

The King of All Vampires had just watched the final successful demonstration of his new ... drug? Weapon? Either way it would be an income source. He directed his three assistants to oversee mass production: at least five thousand doses a week. He also made arrangements for it to be brought into Kravos and Hesperantia (once Barathrea was ready to distribute it). But Aramaul did have other things to attend to.

First of all, he arranged fairly solid plans for the upcoming ball. He would absolutely not miss his opportunity to meet all the most fashionable young victims of the new world. It was a pity that he'd had to punish Drachis so, but 25 years were not so much to an up-and-coming servant, and the not-still-handsome man would be able to (truthfully) blame the aging and scars on the cursed eastern wastelands.

Next, he composed his usual correspondence with his agents to remind them of his preferred views on the general way that the productivity of the surface should be directed. In light of the apparant failure of magic and the loss of all the winds, it seemed that there ought to be opportunity to exploit the Hesperantians' and Kravosi reliance on everyday magic. Among the Undish, only a few adepts and his own ghouls seemed to really be suffering. (Other than the village priests, who'd largely given up months ago when the mists first came, and thus hardly counted). Even his choice of galleys over caravels was turning out to be a favorable one, and the permanent low tide might speed building the harbor. Ulmish merchants might take the opportunity to push their non-magical wares onto the foreign markets, too. The biggest trouble the common people felt was that the smoke from their chimneys hung over the valleys. To them, this felt like quite a large problem, but the shade made it easier for Aramaul to conduct his own business.

His above-ground business over the past day mainly consisted of buying fashionable new clothes, and arranging foreign delivery. Not particularly fashionable in the way Aramaul preferred, but fashionable in the sense that some Undish were beginning to imitate and integrate Kravosi and Hesperantian styles. If there was ever a fortuitous time to taste a few foreigners, it would be while their protectors were so greatly weakened. The Vampire spent a few hours playing with his best magic tools, trying to decide which ones to take with him. Obviously, some would be completely useless unless their mana returned. Others, like swords & pistols still performed basic functions without. But if it did unexpectedly, then he may find himself in need of some tricks. Tough choices, but limited pocket space, and an all-night flight ahead of him.

Choosing to push the drugs, not research what's going on with them. Also succumbing to Hunger [-2] and going on a quick vacation to ruin a couple of NPC lives. Better hope the crisis isn't suddenly solved v:shobon:v

Al-Shurrah - Border of Kiniun
      • The deviant forces reached the southern border with (Mrad). Arrayed before them were mighty bulwarks teeming with soldiers. A messenger brought a papyrus scroll to the leader of the deviants from a "General Khemri" demanding a parlay.
      • Al-Shurrah went through Hesperantia unhindered and with the god's blessing there to undo what was done. It wasn't until he reached the borders of Kiniun that he found himself facing a very large and very armed force. It seemed that they along with other forces stationed along the border were guarding it from intrusion. As the god approached a very large Leonin shouted "Halt! In the name of Bas! State your business with the kingdom stranger." Flag signals and smoke signals had already signaled Al-Shurrah's approach and were being passed along the north and south and as they were seen to points further east. If he ran through them, it would be known within hours or perhaps minutes.

Paper's please. You have been stopped at the western border of Kiniun. You can of course bypass these mortals but you have been seen and they are hyper vigilant for some reason. Your forces and those of Mrad have met. Not addressing this will have consequences.

Ab-Heru, Und Bordrer
      • Ab-Heru makes his way unimpeded across the land until he reaches (Und). Across the border he can sense them. The wrongness of them. The land has quite a sizeable population of undead hidden very carefully. They appear as giant voids to Ab-Heru's site. The occurrence is across the ranges of mountains and harsh wilderness. Suddenly just as you could feel the dead, you feel something even greater. Evil to your sensibilities. An unholy abomination. And you can feel that it can feel you too!
      • To massive army from the north of Mrad appears before General Khemri's forces. The general has sent messengers to talk with the leader of this massive force across the border. (Ab-Heru does not know. You roleplay the General and Spy sent with him in negotiations.)

You sense undeath and EVILLLLL. And it senses you. Your home forces meet an army.

Mugwort – Bug’s Bottom

Mugwort’'s laziness in dealing with his guest saw the being leave in a huff. He orders his frogs to make the arm to knock down the moon post haste. Action better than inaction. All manpower is diverted to this titanic undertaking. It will take at lest a decade or more to complete if materials and manpower doesn't run low. Already the accidents were piling up. The monumental arm stretching high into the sky, towards the heavens.

The arm is continually being built. It is the tallest structure ever known amongst all the lands and it keeps growing larger. Perhaps, one day it can reach into space and be large enough and have enough mass to move a moon. This action is really really big. Like emptying out the ocean with small cups. The structure is really huge now and can be seen from anywhere in the game world.

Arduk - Phoben Mesa, Tumlan Badlands [BP: 0/3]
      • The Wokilar battles Arduk using moves perfectly made to counter every tactic, an inverse revenant. The beast fights well and even scratches Arduk across the chestplate. It does no damage but it speaks to the power of the curse that Arduk himself had inflicted upon his own land. The creature tried everything to gain the upper hand. It shot fire from its wounds, it vomited corrosive acid at Arduk before locking blades with the god. It kicked out and howled in almost victory as Arduk pretended to stumble. He swept his sword at the creature and it howled hatred at the wound inflicted. The mortals quailed at the thing's resolve and backed away from the battle, those that tried to participate killed for their trouble....then the magic died and the terrible rite completed. The Wokilar's head snapped around to look in the direction of the disturbance to the west. It realized its mistake. Too late. Arduk did not flinch nor falter and the beast's head was struck from its body. The screams of all of the victims claimed by the Wokilar wailed as they escaped the long and slow digestion in the belly of the demonic thing. A fountain of power blasting skyward only to fly towards the stationary moon to the west.
The barrier of fear and darkness is lifted from the land and it fades...
      • The Grim Salient wrap themselves so their gaunt features and damaged forms weren't easily inspect-able. They headed north east just as the barrier fell and a terrible rite was completed. They rode into a country in chaos. The village they went into seeing people flee and hide. A man runs up to the riders and yells "Magic is dead! ITS DEAD! The end is here!" He points at the moon. "Save yourselves!"

Arduk wins. The cursed barrier falls and no longer surrounds Tumlan. Your Grim Salient arrive just as things go to poo poo in Kravos. Now that the barrier is down Arduk can travel much faster.

Eleazzar the Craftsman - Hesperantia

The land is soon calmed and now its trying to correct the imbalances. The mana turbines should work and will work but there no longer was any mana to collect. Whenever it seemed a wisp appeared to was soon wisked away to the east. After hearing where the trouble was from, there was nothing for Eleazzar to do but wait for Al-Shurrah. He had told him what he wanted to know. As he pondered his next moves a careless gifted magician fell into one of the turbines and disappeared in a shower of blood. Everyone began screaming to shut it all down but soon power flew from the turbine. It would seem a mortal soul had some magic in it after all....The power also was completely and 100% untainted.

The mana turbines will work. But they need ambient mana as fuel. You have discovered that sacrificing a mortal to the mana engine will generate power. Clean power. Your land is stabilized.

Aramaul - Und
      • The ball is underway and being constructed, it would be ready the next time Aramaul checked.
      • The drug manufacturing was ramping up and soon when Aramaul returned from his feeding would find cartloads of the sweet stuff ready to distribute everywhere.
      • When Armaul finally returned to his castle, he found Thraues missing an arm and three very wounded wolfmen waiting to report. "Madness!" Thraues was saying. "Fanatics all of them. At first we had them by surprise but then when they saw the troops here, it was as if they were possessed by demons! One out of the two runners escaped and we had to kill the rest lest we be captured or killed. They are as strong as any of the kindred and there are many of them if the rantings are to be believed." He grimaced as he fed on innocent blood, the wound on his arm beginning to regenerate slowly. He would need more to return to battle readiness. "We have to crush them before they come and burn everything to the ground Lord Armaul. Its the only way!
      • Troop training had continued in Aramaul's absence but he was no closer to the grand army of his vision. They were patrolling the mountains and borders as best they could but they were not professional soldiers. Yet.
      • As Aramaul was left to ponder this mess suddenly Final DEATH walked into his lands. It was powerful like him and it was anathema to his own existence as well as his children.

Your warriors win at an extremely high cost. No prisoners and lots of angry cats.

Bas - Kinun
      • The battle was long and bloody at the border. There were more of the invaders than defenders and Priest-Captain Thane and his men gave their lives to let the runners get their messages back to Bas. The messenger died after running that distance with the information and what Bas heard shocked him and his inner council to the core. The ancient enemy had returned!
      • The sudden change to the world ripped through his land and people at the exact same instant. His priests screamed as their link to their god's power was suddenly not there. As Bas acted in defiance of the violation he felt his divine magic as it spread to and through one of his priests take hold. The priest knew he had to test it. The magic worked, the empowered crusader the priest had used his abilities on received the blessing of strength and it stuck. Bas soon felt drained, more so than at any point in his existence and fell back into his throne. Magic could be made to work, even if the roads to transport it were no longer there. But at great cost.

Bas gets a disturbing message and also learns that gods can make magic work if they use their own essence to power the mortals. Which is very inefficient and drains the god immensely. The magic actually works.

Garret Boffen, Meeting Hall, Upper Kravos, Kravos Land 1/3 BP

The fire anchor was first. Any magic or magic abilities only seemed to fly into the anchor and nothing seemed to happen. Soon hammers and weapons and arms of destruction were handed out as the anchor was dismantled piece by piece. By their very nature to balance out the moon, the anchors were large and dense affairs. However a cheer went up just as the structure collapsed, smashing the ritual circles and breaking the spells which were self-regenerating from the collected mana.

The explosion killed them all. The flash of light as the infinitely compressed magic no longer had containment and exploded silently as it erased all of the nearby buildings. Sound and light didn't exist momentarily. And when those outside of the radius awoke, the perfectly shaped crater was all that remained and the soil beneath. Garret didn't have time to assess the damage yet, he looked with his sight and saw...YES! The pull on magic was lessening slightly. None was escaping yet but the flow was slowing a bit. Earth was next. As the Crowned surveyed the damage, grim faced. They realized that the longer they waited, the worse this would get. More faction members were called. They needed to end this. Now.

I'll allow Traders of Wonder[+2] but not Thievery[+2]. Nothing is really being stolen here. The fire anchor after much effort is destroyed, the explosion killing the large force accomplishing the task.

Al-Shurrah - Border of Kiniun

As warriors themselves the Leonin guarding the border would be able to sense that Al-Shurrah was not just a supernal warrior, he was war incarnate, although their faith would no doubt give them strength to stand before him. Al-Shurrah spoke simply to them.

"Still far to the east, someone is drawing the life from the world itself. You have noticed the winds growing still, the land growing firm and dry, water becoming stagnant. We are Al-Shurrah, God-King of Onshixti. We mean to go to that place and We shall break whatever foolish machination would doom every living being in this terrible Kali Yuga."

He paused as his words sunk in.

"Go. Tell your masters if you wish. We would sooner pass with their blessing than without, but pass We shall. The longer We wait the greater the danger becomes."

Valhawk presumably this will be reported to you so let me know if Bas wishes to talk, let Al-Shurrah through or if you want to get in my way.

Border of Mrad

The commanding officers looked at each other. The general was struck down by this mana sickness, and although the old dragon was not a mighty engine of destruction in his twilight centuries he did possess great wisdom. Wisdom they now lacked, along with their rifles which where more useless than an arrow without a bow while they too were drained of mana. Al-Shurrah had told them to seek the path of peace, and reports had filtered through that he had personally left to deal with the disaster draining the world. That their king had seen need to do so was concerning, and morale was suffering as a result. Still, they had been chosen to lead and although they might not be gods, or a dragon, they could still drat well do their jobs.

It was decided that two of the commanders would go; Stallfeather, a griffon popular and influential among the younger monstrous Devant would be accompanied by the elf commander Glaeadoryll who was older and skilled with the gift of learning languages. Unless the people across the border could read the body sign-language of the griffon they would need a translator. Glaeadoryll was also familiar to an extent with formal negotiations, having been involved with mediating the peace treaty between the elves of Valewoods and the monster-people of Onshixti. For a time she had been seen as a traitor to her people, but as they had adjusted to the new status quo they had forgiven and come to respect her once more.

Arduk - Phoben Mesa, Tumlan Badlands [BP:0/3] ~Update 6~

Arduk watches as the remains of the creature burn, save for the head. That, they had affixed to the end of their spear, as a warning to the powers that be. Nothing else of the Wokilar would remain but ash.

The bodies of the dead followers had been arranged a fair distance away, their hands carefully removed to show that these men and women had completed their duties and no longer needed them. Arduk had removed each hand themself- an honor that the deceased's loved ones would cherish for generations. The severed hands would be preserved and placed in clay urns, to be buried deep within the Barracks.

Those who had failed to engage the creature Arduk sent home in disgrace; they had allowed fear to master them and their resolve was found wanting.

Last, Arduk turned to the few survivors that remained- many of them gravely wounded and on Death's door. To these, they addressed:

"You have conquered fear and shown devotion to your cause. Take this, my gift, and step away from the hands of Death. Let it break upon you as water upon the rock and find you unyielding. Join the Third Company and rejoice in duty unending."

Arduk stirs the fiery Resolution [+2] of the survivors and attempts to reawaken them as Revenants of the Grim Salient. Regardless of the outcome of this action, Arduk is then gonna haul rear end towards the moon because someone is up to more weird fuckery and they need to learn who and what it is.

Garret Boffen, Meeting Hall, Upper Kravos, Kravos Land 2/3 BP

Grimly, the Crowned surveyed the damage reports from the destruction of the first anchor. The death toll was far heavier than anyone would of liked and the explosive release of mana was greater than ever anticipated. Far grimmer is the realization that each anchor will only be more destructive as time goes on and more mana is stored. Even worse is that the next anchor that must be removed is the Earth anchor, directly under the city.

"We can't do it." says Water. Nervously he continues. "The release of all that stored mana will destroy the city! You all saw what happened last time. We have to find another way."

Fire slams his fist down on the table, cracking the wood. "There is no other way!" he roars. "Kravos can't function without magic! I've gotten the riots down but without the harvest from the other towns we'd be having a famine already."

Garret says, "I'll take the brunt of the explosion this time, to save the city. I have an idea on how to do it as well. I just ask that you'll trust me on this."

Water and Fire both scoff at this and launch into recriminations. "It was you suggestion in the first place! Now we're in this mess!" But eventually after Earth chips in they agree. Once more they'll disrupt the magical array and formula and pray for success. Earth does come up with one idea that hadn't occurred to them before. "Though the city has lost its power, we still have many magical artifacts here. If we can round up some that could store mana, or bags of holding, that should help as well."

"I could put a bag of holding to use, yes, to help store any excess I can't." says Garret. But he starts to think of how it might be made even more useful...

Despite the disaster of the first anchor, Kravos moves on to dismantle/destroy the Earth Anchor. This time Garret will move to negate the explosion, since it could decimate Kravos. Using Thievery]+2] to steal the explosion and Moon[+2] to redirect it, firing it off into the sky. Meanwhile, using Traders of Wonder[+2] they will attempt to scrounge up some magical items with mana storing abilities to siphon off some of the mana released, as well as a Bag of Holding for Garret to use.

EXCEED CHARGE
Bas - Kinun

The message from the strange god at the border arrived just after the runner did. Bas was still shaken by the appearance of the Lupus from the land to the south. The news destracting him from the other crisis at hand. When the report came in, Bas quickly sent off a reply. He would permit the strange god to pass through his territory on two conditions. First, the god make no attempt to communicate or otherwise interfere with the people of Kinuin. Second, that he provide the details of the location of the entity responsible for the draining of magic.

EXCEED CHARGE
Bas - Kinun

The news from the runner shook Bas and the upper levels of the clergy to the core. Everyone had assumed that if they were in a new world as it appeared that the Lupus were gone forever. Now however, they had appeared again, attacking from the south. That the delegation from the south had not mentioned them caused some consternation, but that was dispelled by the fact that they had not mentioned the beasts that had initially attacked either. The consensus among the clergy, one endorsed by Bas, was that the Lupus were ruling this land from the shadows, the bandit attacks and missing people described by the southern converts were the responsibility of the Lupus. The knowledge that the land of the south was controlled by their ancient enemy only hardened the resolve that it must be the first target of the crusade. The Lupus must be wiped from the world, and their unknowing subjects must be brought into the light the faith, there was no alternative. The interference with magic would have to wait, for this was a far greater threat, for to a man neither the Leonin nor their god had any doubt that the Lupus would not settle with merely settle with occupation if they were able to overcome the faithful, this was an existential war that would end with the elimination of the Lupus or the Leonin, and Bas would not allow that latter possibility to occur even if he had to tear the world itself asunder to prevent it.

Fortunately, it did not appear such… apocalyptic measures were necessary. Orders and news flew out to the Leonin, the news that the land to the south was secretly ruled over by the Lupus drove them onward in their preparation for the crusade with a new vigor. The advance units were already preparing to cross the border and handle reconnaissance and lay the groundwork for the movement of the full force of the crusade.

While this occured, Bas retreated to his temple. The loss of Thane and his troops weighed heavily upon him, and he knew that they would not be the last to fall for the sake of crusade. Already they were being honored as martyrs, their names would be celebrated for all time for the service they had rendered to their god and their people in so valiantly giving their lives to alert them to the Lupus threat. However, that was hardly enough for Bas. He was their god, and they were his faithful, he owed them a greater duty. So it was that he called deep into his reserves of divine power, reaching out to embrace the souls of each and every one of his faithful including the recently fallen Thane and his troops, letting his power flow through them and strengthen their souls and their connection to him. His intention was that upon death, the souls of his faithful would return to him, and he would accept them into himself. He had no doubt that for the Leonin an eternity surrounded by the god they worshipped with all their heart and soul would be paradise for the Leonin, but Bas truly sought this to be an eternal reward for his faithful, so he let his power flow freely within himself, that light of persuasion would bathe the souls as they joined him, coaxing them into a state of utter bliss, ensuring that his faithful when their time came would know his love for them and whatever happiness he could give them for all time.

The Leonin are starting the crusade into Und, with advance units crossing the border to prepare the way for the full force of the crusade to follow. The news that the lands to the south are under the control of the Lupus only make the determination of the Leonin burn even brighter. Crusaders[+2] for both their skill and their zeal in carrying this out.

Bas is setting up his version of the afterlife for his faithful, attempting to include Thane and the recently deceased troops as well. Basically, when one of the faithful of Bas dies, their soul will fly immediately to Bas and he will take them into himself. Strength[+2] to both strengthen the souls of his faithful and the bond between their soul and him to make it happen. Also, an eternity one with god should be the very ideal of paradise for the sort of zealots Bas wants as followers, but he’ll also employ his Persuasion[+2] to attempt to make sure its an utterly blissful experience for the souls. It’s meant to be an eternal reward after all.

Aramaul - Thraues's Chambers, Blackblood Junction, The Caverns, Northern Und

Lord Aramaul sheathed his sword, surrounded by the corpses of Thraues's beloved pets. The man himself was being flogged by his siblings. "Do I have to do everything myself!?" He shouted into the empty manwolf pens, furious at the continued failures of his servants. "A single Leonin, two if possible!" He added to the aide that walked behind him "A child or a woman or an old grandmother. But that rear end had to go and pick a fight with soldiers and return empty handed. 'They're fanatics, they're too strong' - That's why I need one to experiment upon, the absolute idiots!"

He stormed back into the main chamber. "Anyone who brings me a living Leonin; be it man, woman, child, or aged; will be granted ten years of pleasure and excess. Let it be known. Thraues failed because he was too bold, I know you theives and cutthroats are more cautious. Drug them and bring them to me."

With that, he transformed into a swarm of bats and returned to his own dwelling.

Throne Room, Beneath Castle Unddaul

Barathrea and the Kravosi agents, at least, seemed to be doing well, and were ready to receive shipments of Afterlife. He arranged for smuggling to begin. There was nothing illegal about bringing little black gems across either border, but better to make it seem like something the peasants were making themselves, not the perfect revenue stream for a demon lord.

As for this, admittedly terrifying, interloper, finally after centuries Aramaul was readying to emerge from the shadows [into bigger, richer shadows]. Better to wait and grow in strength. Thraues may have been a setback, but he still had better control over the surface than since he'd been alive, a network of agents across three other countries, as well as a powerful new weapon to spread his influence. And he'd just had a whole week of drinking deeply to sate him and give him insight into his neighbors. He could afford to wait, to have the mayors and the captains pass this god safely to its destination or expel him back into the swamp, on the advice of their excellent and long-serving aides. Meanwhile The Rat King and the newly-finished galleys would try to find where this god had come from. A crisis at home could perhaps be engineered to keep it away from Und.

Hunting ~again~ to get a captive Leonin Dark Deals could provide motivation to succeed. Starting to move Afterlife while there's still a crisis happening. Using the mortal Kindred [+2] to build my defense layers against Ab-Heru, and prepare to counterattack if necessary.

The leonine troops gave Al-Shurrah news of their god's consent to pass through their lands this time, under the condition that Al-Shurrah shared his knowledge of the responsible party upon his return. The Event (As detailed in Kravos): Great unrest and disruption happens in ALL LANDS due to the actions of Garret and the Nation of Kravos. Any mortals that were looking up at the sky anywhere in the world during The Event have lost their sanity.
Never to be returned to sanity.
It was brief but potent what happened.
If you as a god saw it, you are shaken badly. It isn't Unknown it is Inconceivable

Arduk - Phoben Mesa, Tumlan Badlands [BP:0/3]

      • As the body burned the eyes on the grim totem seemed to regard Arduk mockingly. It must have been a trick of the light. The Grim Salient had lost few numbers since coming to this world but their numbers were replenished. There were few who could take such a gift or were worthy of it. There were heroes who died and now would live again this day.
      • He and his new recruits began riding and arrived in Kravos. After getting the situation from his forces, they felt the explosion. Or was it an implosion? They headed towards the area around source and soon found: [Garret Boffen]. in the [Meeting Hall, Upper Kravos, Kravos Land ].
      • Nearby you see, another god: Al-Shurrah
Few of the warriors meet the requirement to be resurrected beyond death but now the Grim Salient's numbers are now full again.

Al-Shurrah - Kravos

      • Al-Shurrah crosses into Kravos. The country is mostly in chaos but things aren't quite as bad as it would seem. An explosion. No an implosion. Al-Shurrah pinpoints the area where it came from. He soon asks directions and finds: [Garret Boffen]. in the [Meeting Hall, Upper Kravos, Kravos Land ]. Suddenly in the skies above Kravos you experience The Event (as shown below)

      • At the Camp of General Khemri, on the border with Onshixti, Kingdom of Mrad, a peaceful resolution was found. An exchange of information and the respectful agreements to stay on each other's own side saw a ramping down of hostilities.

Bas - Kinun

      • The information criers and the word was spreading. CRUSADE! The ancient enemy had returned in the lands of the south. The Lupus were returning. Everyone was galvanized into the war effort. The borders would see the majority of warriors return for the main force as men and women of all mature ages flocked to join the growing army from all walks of life. The bare minimum of scouts would watch the north, west, and eastern borders. Arms and armor, Priest-Captains and chaplains whipped the people into religious fervor. It wasn't long before the ground shook beneath the feet of thousands of Leonin. All marching with one purpose. To crush the blight in Und. :siren: they will arrive at the border of Und at the beginning of next turn. You can command them then.:siren:
      • As the Leonin forces began marching southward Bas secludes himself in his chambers. It would take all of his will and all of his might to accomplish his next step. Absorbing the soul of a follower was not a trivial task. For no matter how much a physical mortal wanted to be one with their god, the soul wished to go else where. Move on. To the next phase of existence, whatever that would have been. Bas was strong though, and persuasive. Even the souls of the dead would not resist him for long. He began instinctively with the ritual. For he did not know how. But somehow as he continued doing it, he was given the knowledge. From something or someone at the edge of his perception. yes...this is the way Time ceased to have meaning, awareness of his surroundings faded and soon Bas was lost. Until he came back to his senses. The runic script and tattoos glowed on his skin as each mark signified another Leonin. Then another. And another. They soon began to cover him from head to toe, overlapping in beautiful patterns through his fur. Across the nation even as they prepared for war, each Leonin gasped as the mark appeared on each one of them.
        The Mark of Bas
      • While this was going on, afterwards your servants told you of The Event(In the skies above Kravos)
The Mark of Bas [+0], is on all Leonin. For all to see. Upon death the soul of the Leonin that dies will be joined with Bas. Absorbed. They are not accessible for knowledge, skills, or anything mechanical. For now. Each death will ignite a corresponding tattoo on Bas and it will float away like dust. Bas gets Fate of the Leonin [+0], he will feel the deaths of any of his children that bear his mark. New marks are created by the ritual on birth and removed on the death of that Leonin. All of the Leonin souls will be merged with the being of Bas. They will feel bliss, Bas will feel bliss. But extracting any souls or speaking with them is GM: Impossible. Unless you wish to destroy them. Unfortunately those that died before this point are beyond Bas' reach.

Mugwort – Bug’s Bottom (1/3)

“The frogs and Mugwort continued to push more and more time and resources into the creation of the ARM. Whether this would be a good idea or a bad idea remained to be seen. The governor began making organization of the project better, but it would still take years to make the arm big enough, large enough, tall enough, and strong enough to each and move a moon. The calculations made it a bit easier, however they would run out of junk before that ever happened. The frogs of Bug's bottom would need resources. Resources the resource poor swamp did not have.

It was during additional construction that everyone saw it. The Event (Detailed below in the skies above Kravos for all to see)

The arm gets bigger again. However there are some logistical issues with resources that need to be seen to.

      • The castle looms in the distance. [Castle Unddaul] Several [Greater Undead Vampires] and a being that rivals Ab-Heru's own power existed there. multiple stronger unlife forms [Ghouls] were present as well. There were very strong supernatural life signs as well. [Ancient Werewolves] and [Greater Werewolves]. Many normal mortals were present as well, but they seemed sick somehow. Tainted by some of the undead he was sure of it. The presence could feel him just as surely as he could feel it. Did Ab-Heru really wish to anger a nation like this? Yes. He did. He smashed through the castle walls, his mummified hands breaking the stone easily. The castle's defenders sounded the alarm and began dying. Aramaul - Thraues's Chambers, Blackblood Junction, The Caverns, Northern Und

      • When Lord Aramaul arrived he sent out the shipments on merchant wagons and they began to ship.
      • A report was waiting on Aramaul's desk. Detailing a massive set of troop movements north of the border (Kiniun). Aramaul could either divert forces there or do nothing to stop what was likely an invasion.
      • The Rat-King began moving westward, spreading amongst the rodent population. Whether this would be a good idea to grow the gestalt consciousness or not remained to be seen. It was planned to get into the grain supplies of the country where this creature had come from (Mrad). But what was this? It was here, nearby his castle!
      • :siren: The being smashes into your fortress. The defenders sound the alarm. There are greater undead, vampires, werewolves to name a few. Aramaul feels their presences begin to wink out like blowing out a candle. Only he can stop this rampage he realizes. You are in combat :siren:

Eleazzar the Craftsman, the Mana Turbines, Leyhold, Hesperantia

The next set of experiements end in total failure. But suddenly on the 55th attempt Eleazzar feels something grip his chest and begin ripping at his divine essence. The mana machine begins to glow brighter than the sun and energy readouts shoot through the roof. All of the technicians begin screaming and trying to turn it off but the reaction seems self sustaining. With a mighty effort, Eleazzar smashes a fist into the controlboard of the machine. The grip on the very core of who and what he was lessening by the instant. It would seem that the machine latched onto the only other source of magic it could find. Himself.

As he starts recovering he finds the reason for this odd accident, reports of The Event(As detailed below in Kravos) start pouring in as the country is again plunged into chaos.

You can gather ambient mana, souls, or power the machine yourself (not recommended). Do you wish to delve further? Y/N?

The preparations were made and soon the Earth anchor was in the process of being destroyed. The detonation that was expected, did occur and then the forces that were encased shot towards the sky. It arced brightly in the night, flying flying flying and then he and all of the crowned saw it. There was a great...nothing beyond the mist. And then suddenly the darkness opened and:

It would be known in future texts as "The Event" by the sane and "The Great Truth" amongst the mad -=- but any mortals that were looking up towards the skies or those not sufficiently strong enough to resist went insane. It was only a brief instant as they all felt that terrible regard. If gods felt insignificant before it, what would the ant-like mortals feel? It must have been indescribable. Al-Shurrah - Meeting Hall, Upper Kravos

Al-Shurrah walked forward with purpose, his weapons not yet drawn but ready to be so. To the strange god before him, the one named Garret he called out.

"Garret! Foolish human! By your foolish machinations you have not only brought ruin upon your lands and people, but you have endangered those of others as well. Your greed kills hundreds across these lands joined together, and now you risk the lives of every living creature by attempting to wake the dread master that has brought us to this graveyard of the gods!" He gestured around with righteous indignation. "These locks that tie down the moon, and steal away the life of all the land and those who live in it must be destroyed. Now."

Quornes: Happy to have a chat but this is not a request, it is an ultimatum. If Garret intends intends to obstruct Al-Shurrah then it will come to blows.

Yam Slacker
Eleazzar the Craftsman, with the afflicted, all over Hesperantia

Another moment, another disaster. He briefly pondered using the one responsible as a mana battery, but frankly consuming any sentient being as a utility struck him as deeply wrong. Souls and Gods are off the menu, end of story. Hesperantia was more fortunate than most this time: The cityscape had plenty of sight line obscuring buildings, plenty of vantages from which to look down rather than up. Even the astronomy dirigibles had been fine, on secondment at the Kinun border, watching the crusader camps on the ground. Relatively few Hesperantians were impacted compared to nations with open fields and steam-free skies, but no place escaped unscathed, which left the God of Genius tending to those whose sanity had been irrevocably lost.

So, the fact that they were insane could not be changed. That didn't mean it couldn't be used: The line between genius and madness could be very thin, and the God of Genius had the wherewithal to push it towards the side of brilliance. Damage could not be undone, but how the brain dealt with it, there was where there was opportunity.

Using Genius +2 on those afflicted by sky syndrome to funnel that insanity into creativity and into visionary capabilities, turning madmen and women into eccentric geniuses, uplifting them into the Brilliance of the Gifted +2

EXCEED CHARGE
Bas & the Leonin - Crossing the border into Und

The great work of the Mark of Bas had been eminently satisfying for Bas. It warmed his heart to know that even should they fall, the eternal reward for his beloved faithful had been secured. The reaction of the Leonin only reaffirmed his certainty of the rightness of his actions. For the Leonin the Mark was a two-fold blessing. Not only was it a guarantee that their God would look after them even after they shed their mortal bodies, but it was also tangible and indisputable proof of their faith and their God’s love for them. In all cases Bas had encountered so far, the Mark manifested on the forehead of the mortal and the Leonin displayed them proudly. Besides their intended use, Bas soon realized the Mark would prove useful for identifying when a convert had truly completed their indoctrination into the faith, for the Mark would be the perfect proof that they had embraced the faith with all the zeal Bas expected of those who would follow him.

The news of what was becoming known as the Event was troubling, and had not the Lupus appeared to the south, he had no doubt his forces would be marching east at this very moment. The only saving grace was that the Leonin had been so busy preparing for the crusade, pouring over what maps they had been able to gain from the delegation, preparing arms and armor, training for the battles ahead, that only a few unlucky ones had been looking up at the cursed moment. Those that had been damaged by the event had been taken into custody by the Church. They would live out the remainder of their lives in his Church’s care, their needs seen to as best as his faithful were capable. Bas would tolerate nothing less. The Leonin had long been abused by the Lupus, and he had gone to great lengths to see that such a abuse would never be inflicted by the faithful against each other. It was the Church’s duty to see to the needs of the faithful, to care for their bodies as well as their souls. All able Leonin were expected to contribute whatever way they could for the faithful as a whole, with the Church to guide and organize them in how they might best serve their fellow faithful and their God.

Now that time had come to spread the Faith southward. The Lupus would be driven from the world, and the people of the Und, he had learned the name from the delegation after their conversion, would be reborn in him just as the Leonin had been.

---

The crusade was gathered on the border, the Leonin eager to begin their holy work, the words of their God still ringing in their ears. He had spoken to the gathered convocation of his faithful, blazing with his divine glory. He had urged them forward, commanded themselves to dedicate themselves to the holy task ahead. The people of the south lived under the domination of the Lupus and they didn’t even realize it. Bas had explained it to them, the Lupus ruled this land, Und, in a way very different to how they had been ruled, but no less cruel or destructive to the people. They did not reveal their presence, instead they masqueraded as bandits and monsters, stealing people in the night, keeping the people in fear, drawing them into sin and depravity. It would be the Crusade’s job to bring this all to an end, to drive the Lupus from these lands as they had been driven from Kinuin, and to save the souls of the people and bring them into the light of Bas as the Leonin had been. He would be with them always, he had told them, never stopping to rest, always travelling to where he would be most needed, where his divine talents would be most useful. His orders had been strict, the crusaders were not to tolerate any resistance, but by the same token there was to be no looting or any other activity which might reflect poorly on God or his Church. This was a mission of salvation, not destruction, and the Crusaders knew their God would tolerate no misbehavior from his holy warriors. They must teach by example, prove the truth of their God’s grace by their actions. Bas would see to the conversion of the people they conquered, and they would never dare poison the hearts of the people of Und against the one true god.

The anticipation was palpable, then the sound of the horn they had all been straining to hear burst across their lines. The Leonin surged forward, the order to advance given, the glorious crusade for the soul of Und began today.

The Und Crusade begins. The Leonin will cross the border in force, Crusaders[+2] for the military knowhow and zeal to crush any armed resistance and see to the conversion and indoctrination of all they encounter. In terms of fighting, the Leonin will attempt to maximize prisoners taken, though any Lupus (or werewolf in wolf form) will be killed on sight. We’ll cross the bridge of how they’ll deal with the transformation part of werewolves when it comes. Bas will lead from the front, moving wherever his powers will be most useful, employing his divine talents in full. Strength[+2] to bolster his troops and to defeat any armed resistance he encounters either directly or using his supreme strength combined with his charisma to convince them to surrender. Persuasion[+2] to convince any who resist to surrender and to convert anyone and everyone the crusade encounters to his worship.

Aramaul, The Workshops, Beneath Castle Unddaul
(The previous day, he sent word to the relevant agentsthat the Ulmish militia should resist as best it could for at least a week, but to avoid casualties among his people, bleed the lions, surrender eventually but not succumb to their rule. )

He could hear the Final Death smashing things above, in the ruins of the castle. He could also hear the construction crews, busy shoring up the walls to serve as an airship mooring, fleeing in terror. He could hear shots ringing out as the foe pushed into the dungeons, even a couple of cannons. Aramaul would have handed out his small store of magic weapons, stolen from across the old world as well as his new neighbors, if he'd thought that they would work.

Instead, he commanded the workmen and useful servants to get out of the way, instead he sent the werewolves to draw the Destroyer into the proper caverns, where it could do less damage. A few survivors came into Aramaul's presence and told him what they had seen. As that enemy god drew into the caves, the Great Vampire reached out, his voice echoing in a tone that only a being of great power could hear:

"Why would you do this? Do you think this is a good deed? Do you think you are making anything better? Have you thought that we gods" Aramaul at first hated to include himself in that word, but suddenly realized that he might indeed be one, "that we gods were brought to this strange place to destroy eachother?"

A pause, as Aramaul reached out with his power and twisted the passages of his home, isolating himself and Ab-Heru from the rest of the ghouls, who had important things to do regarding failing magic, routine business, and lion invasions.

"Is it instead that we are here to grow stronger? That our people should become greater? Where are your people, have you abandoned them to go on some impulsive rampage? Or do you truly believe that you do right here?

"You passed through the swamp. Did you not meet its god? Let me tell you that my neighbors are all of them are as strange as Mugwort, you, and I are to one another. Do you plan to also tear up their homes and their friends with your skeletal fingers?

"Don't you have better things to be doing with your time than ending the lives of my blessed ones? Don't you have a land you've left unattended? Don't you have people who are undefended? I can send you there quickly if you need help."

Using Kindred +2 to limit casualties from Ab-Heru's assault. Then counteratacking with Despair to get him to either leave or negotiate.

The army will be putting up a token resistance to the Leonin. Enough to cause bitter feelings on both sides. We've got guns and forts, and they're stubborn giants, so I expect a few bloodbaths. Assuming I survive Ab-Heru, then Bas and his troops are nothing but a tasty treat to my ghouls.

To seal the deal, Garret offers a handshake to both of the "visiting" gods. They represent potential new threats, though Arduk seems inclined to passivity towards Kravos. Al-Shurrah will be someone to watch however. With any last pleasantries out of the way, Garret brings forth again the bag of holding. He stops and turns to the other Crowned. "Start on the Wind anchor. We'll be along soon enough."

Turning back to the assembled gods, he holds the bag forth. "Channel forth your essence and let us make something new." His sharp eyes watch the two as they make their efforts.

Garret channels his Thievery[+2] into the creation of the artifact. Something far greater than a bag a holding, something capable of storing even the mana present in the anchors.

Ab-Heru-Castle Undaul, Und

Does Ab-Heru slow his blows imperceptibly as the voice of Aramaul enters into his heart? Does the despair that drips from the Vampire Lord's words make him slightly pull his punches? Perhaps. A god Ab-Heru is, but while none of the Undead King's mortal followers can hurt him, Aramaul himself has the divine about him, and his magics have bite even against a god. Still, the rage howls in Ab-Heru's brain, and, making a hapless ghost dissipate into the ether, gives answer..

"Strange the frogs of the swamp may be, and stranger still their lord. They are oddities, not man nor not beast, and in this world, no doubt there are those stranger still. But what care I for their strangeness? I do not love them, nor do I hate them. They live and die, and from their death, new life comes. Their souls pass on. But you, oh perversion, you and your creatures are dead, but your souls do not pass on! Your death brings forth no new life. Selfish wretch! Would you draw all the world's power into yourself? Is it your way to take and never give? And you would turn others into the same parasite that you are! I am your freedom, leech king! I am your annihilation!"

With that, he redoubles his efforts, twisting and reshaping the landscape out of the trap that Aramaul is trying to draw him into.

Yep, figure Death +2 with this one, Agriculture +2 doesn't really work unless I want to get creative beyond reasonableness. Trying to leave myself room for escape if I need it.

Were we both men once - men who happened into a special power that granted godhood? Do you not remember how much you feared death? I chose to help my supplicants avoid death."

Aramaul paused, let his rival smash stalagmites for a few moments, while the master of Und thought about what he'd just said. Was there a grain of unbreakable truth in all this airy talk? Had he stumbled upon something worth pondering? As his opponent neared, and squashed more of the guards, Aramaul seemed to see more clearly what gave the foe god his power as Final Death. Aramaul needed to get the enemy to ~at least~ a point of negotiation. And so the vampire continued, though also took hold of sword and pistol just in case:

"Souls should pass on, you say. Do they still? I admit, as a former member of a pantheon, I do not always know what happens to my children after they unfortunately meet an end. It was not my purview. . . . . I have lost contact with my . . . . Actually, let's say 'we,' and ~'our'~ fellows. (Have you heard from any of your brother-gods?) After the mists, I had been most careful with my flock, until you showed up to try to fit us into your narrow opinions of cycles. To my view, none of my children have ever died, except by violence, and in this strange new world I do not know the one who would greet them when they do. Perhaps you could help me with this?

"Perhaps you could build us an afterlife? My children would not ask for much comfort, just a place that is, for now, safe. This new world is terrifyingly strange, and what was once guaranteed must surely no longer be so.

"I do not know what aid I can offer to your people in return. But only because I do not know their needs, not because I am unable!"

*Aramaul does not know if the Final Death has visited Hesperantia

Trying to further slow the assault. Can Ab-Heru be swayed by a different point of view? Can I offer a Dark Deal [+2] to a fellow god?

Ulmish Militias, In defense of Northern Und

(In the coming weeks, the ghoulish agents among the militia heard about the strangely persuasive ruler of the invaders after the first few defections among the surface inhabitants. Afterwards, they spread rumors of mind-dominating magic, and made sure that doctrine among the sergeants & captains would be thunderous volleys of gunfire into the lions before any words could be spoken. Still, the militias were driven steadily backwards by the sturdy Leonin.)

Arduk -Meeting Hall, Upper Kravos [BP 0/3] ~Update 7~

:words: will go here

Using Resolution [+2] to tap into the will of the three god's determination to solve the mana anchor issue and direct that power into the bag. Using Fear [+2] to mark the bag with an aura of fear that will alert people to it's danger and hopefully prevent someone doing something stupid with it. I'll do the narrative part of this post when I'm not ridiculously ill.

Ab-Heru stops his assault for a minute. "Do you wish to deal, creature? Know that this not over with us, but for now, here are my terms. I will spare your life and your kingdom for now, and in exchange, you will make no more undead. The abominations you have already created may stay, but you will not add to their number. You will allow your people to die. If you wish me to make you an afterlife, I will, in exchange for a favor later. These are the terms, Do you take them?"

I can let you taste the sweet and sour of forever
Unending. Eternal. Inevitable
Taste my darkness

Fall into me. Into my eyes
Look at them. Depths unfathomable
Pain immeasurable
A cruel promise fulfilled

Mugwort - Bug's Bottom [2/3]
Construction progressed an almost self-feeding desire for the creation of this structure almost self sustaining...it was large now. it could extend and:

Object: The CLAW [+2]
The cyclopean, monolithic, megastructure now towered over the skylines of all lands. It could extend and reach every land on the continent. The moon was still years beyond being reached. But the claw could be used now to strike anywhere at any time. Unfortunately Shoddy Construction [-2]: the claw if used drops wreckage and junk from a great height as it moves and extends. Anything caught in its path would feel the destruction. Also there was a chance if it was used to simply smash and destroy rather than just move an object, it could collapse on Bug's Bottom. Killing the population. If the device got any larger, it could threaten all life if it collapsed on the continent.

You can still keep going, but the other players might come visit you. If something goes wrong.

Garret, Al-Shurrah, and Arduk - Meeting Hall, Upper Kravos, Kravos Land

The wind anchor howled with the accumulated mana. The bag of holding Garret assisted or convinced by the others as they were able. The anchor was soon destroyed and mana was let loose in bursts and gasps. The last remaining anchors trying to suck up the flow but not able to do so. The splashes of mana would make things sporatic at best. The energy unleashed went two places. Into the bag created by Garret and into the three gods themselves. Al-Shurrah when he came to his senses was kneeling. Arduk came back to himself on the ground. And Garret? He stopped screaming when he realized he had been screaming and clutched the bag. Mana seemed to flit from being available to not being available, the bursts letting some items and objects momentarily light up with power and then go dark. All remaining magi got sick.

The Bag of Destruction [+2] - The force it contains can level a city, or smash an army. The rest of the energy had warped and gone through Garret, Al-Shurrah, and Arduk. The secondary effect was interesting. Locked [-2] - The bag can only be opened or used by three gods in agreement. Any three gods.

Mana was returning but still being interfered with but the flows were sporadic.

Just fyi trying to harness a runaway train like this could possibly kill you guys. Everyone failed the roll to save themselves and all but one roll to do this action failed...but its the first in game year so lets just go with almost killed you all.

Eleazzar the Craftsman, with the afflicted, all over Hesperantia

Some had to be restrained so great was the madness, but the creativity of these affected. It seemed to produce elegant designs with smooth curves in their solutions. Often these gifted would go into screaming fits and sleep didn't come to them, but when they were lucid it was as if they could come to solutions quicker. They were soon given a name: The Resolved [+2] if put on a project, any project they would help come to a non-standard solution to anything they worked upon. However, their minds connected with something that broke them, if that pathway is bridged when they are used it generates: A consequence to be chosen by GM dice and the wheel of consequences.

It could be benign or malignant. But hey, more smarties!

Bas' Leonin vs Aramaul's Ulmish Militias- Border of Und

The Leonin crashed into the Ulmish with the force of a tidal wave hitting a mountain. The Ulmish forces weren't as strong or well trained as the Leonin and they resisted mostly the calls for defection. By sacrificing huge numbers of troops and Aramaul's supernatural kindred on their mountainous home territory coupled with a fierce amount of luck, the Ulmish forces were forced into full retreat rather than annihilated. The clash at the border left many injured, dying, and true-dead. It was all the Leonin commanders could do to pull their forces back to consolidate and regroup, they would have been too spread out and been able to be picked off by bandits in their lust to destroy the true enemy. When they had regrouped the report went to Bas', their forces would march into Und and destroy the Wolf menace once and for all.

Dice dice dice. But the Leonin are the victors here. The armies of Aramaul are in full retreat. The Leonin forces are going to start conquering this next turn. The report to Bas is dispatched, Aramaul will hear of it once the scene with Epicurius is done. The Leonin almost rolled Und's forces up with this one battle, so a reminder that tactics and strategy can mitigate things.

Aramaul & Ab-Heru - Castle Undaul, Und
In chat Speleothing agrees. Agreement will be GM enforced with Dark Deal
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xceqZWvBWmQ

As the pact is made, Ab-heru feels a mass amount of deaths in the north. Aramaul winces. A bunch of his kindred and mortals wouldn't get to see that afterlife now. The pulses of mana returning and disappearing seemed an ill omen as well. Perhaps an agreement to disagree and settle this at another time?

Ab-Heru - Castle Undaul, Und

"So it is agreed, then. An afterlife, for your people to go to, so they need not fear that their death will mean nothingness. Better we had come to a deal earlier, I think", as he feels the wave of death roll over him. "I go, but remember your vow. For I shall watch you, and if you break it, it will not go well for you."

With that, he leaves, and heads towards Kravos, still hoping to resolve this mana situation, because, even though it's back, it's still not well..

Making an afterlife for the souls of the land of Und. Details to come. +2 Death, Then crossing into Kravos to try to hunt down mana blockages

The people of Mrad-The Land of Mrad

Throughout the land, the harvest begins. Though it has been a traumatic time since the change, some things remain, and among those is that the people need to eat. So, as the crops finish ripening, peasants throughout the land start reaping the wheat, the barley and the flax. The vegetables are picked, and excess livestock butchered and the meat salted. Throughout the land, the tax collectors roam, gathering the parts of the harvest reserved for the king's granaries.

So too, do the nobles prepare for the winter. They collect their own taxes from the land they control, and buy what they do not have. Some of them look at their cellars with regret, for Mrad does not have a good climate for grapes, and they must trade with the foreigners for their wine; a trade long since disrupted. Some of them talk amongst themselves of sponsoring an expedition the next year. Oh, from what they hear, the swamp that now has implanted itself along their border is unsuitable for civilization, it being the home of horrible frog monsters, but the strange new land to the north, Un-Shuti, it is called? They were strange creatures, but a friend's cousin's brother was on the staff of General Khemri, and HE said that they had sent an embassy to the General, and that while they controlled beasts they treated as equals, some of them were, or at least seamed to be human, and that, for foreigners, they seemed polite and civilized, and maybe they would be amenable to trade. . .if they had wine.

The autumn comes also to the temples. It has been a strange year for the priests...strange to begin with, and since gotten stranger. For the longest time, the mists concealed the stars, and then, when they reappeared, they caused madness. Meanwhile, since the incident with the stars and the winds and the moon, things had gotten strange. The omens were bad, and the sacrifices...well, there was something wrong. It was hard to say what, exactly, The actual physical motions of sacrifice were no different, but the whole thing seemed...off, somehow. They didn't undestand it, and the priests of the realm didn't like things they didn't understand. Still, life went on, and the priests of the land continued the rituals. Throughout the kingdom, the priests of Ab-Heru readied themselves. They had much to do...first the Mourning for Ab-Heru Descending to the Lands of the Dead, and then preparing the time for the Observations. Meanwhile, the temples of Ab-Sekt were just as busy. It wouldn't be long until Ab-Sekt would have to do battle with the Devouring Serpent, and He would need their prayers to succeed. So too were the Sword-Dancers of Um-Waru busy, pounding sword against shield, and yelling their fearsome cries to remember Um-Waru's mastery and to lend their aid to Him as he took his side besides his enemy Ab-Sekt, together against the Devouring Serpent. So too were the temples of the other gods and goddesses busy, as they each traced the seasons of the year.

The palace was also busy. The King, may He live forever, was still young, but it is in youth that we must prepare ourselves for age and endings. Once the harvest was in, the peasants would be idle. Then was the time for the corvee, and the work to begin on the king's tomb. So the supplies had to be bought and gathered, the plans had to be made and checked, the land mapped out, the prayers conducted, the workers camps built, and the recruiters to be sent out. All of that had to be done on top of the other work of court.

The people of Mrad are bringing in the harvest and getting ready for winter
